Position Overview

We are looking for a hands-on IT Systems & Support Specialist to provide primarily on-site technical support across our Calgary and Canmore offices and hospitality properties, while also taking ownership of key components of our Microsoft cloud and endpoint environment.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys solving technical issues in person, building strong relationships with staff, and supporting end users in fast-paced operational environments, while also contributing to the design, implementation, and improvement of Microsoft 365, Intune, Azure, and security platforms.

The successful candidate will support day-to-day operations while helping implement and maintain device management, endpoint security, data governance, and identity standards, contributing to a more secure, scalable, and modern IT environment.

This role will also support the organization’s adoption of modern Microsoft capabilities, including security, data governance, and AI-enabled tools such as Microsoft 365 Copilot, ensuring they are implemented in a secure and practical manner.

Salary: Dependant on Experience

Shifts: Full-time/Permanent , 8-hour/day, 40-hour work week
Location:
Primarily on-site between Calgary and Canmore properties
Travel:
Regular travel between company locations required

Key Responsibilities

DESKTOP SUPPORT & SERVICE DESK

  • Provide day-to-day desktop and laptop troubleshooting for Windows-based systems
  • Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, printer, peripheral, and connectivity issues
  • Deliver exceptional in-person and remote support to corporate and property staff
  • Track, prioritize, and resolve support requests and help desk tickets
  • Support meeting room technology, workstations, mobile devices, and shared office equipment
  • Escalate advanced issues where required and maintain clear documentation of incidents and resolutions
  • Identify and help reduce recurring issues through improved tracking and root cause awareness

MICROSOFT 365, AZURE & ENDPOINT MANAGEMENT

  • Administer Microsoft 365 users, licensing, permissions, and shared services
  • Support and enhance Microsoft Entra ID (Azure AD) including identity, access, and authentication workflows
  • Design, implement, and maintain Microsoft Intune (MDM/MAM) including device enrollment, compliance policies, and configuration profiles
  • Build and manage endpoint security policies, including device hardening, patching, and compliance enforcement
  • Implement and maintain Conditional Access policies and security baselines
  • Support Microsoft Teams administration and collaboration tools
  • Lead onboarding and offboarding processes including identity, access, and device provisioning
  • Continuously improve Microsoft cloud standards, governance, and documentation

MICROSOFT PLATFORM, SECURITY & AI ENABLEMENT

  • Support the implementation and ongoing improvement of the organization’s Microsoft ecosystem
  • Assist in enabling and operationalizing Microsoft 365 Copilot in a secure and controlled manner
  • Help define and implement data governance standards, including classification, access control, and information protection
  • Implement and maintain Data Loss Prevention (DLP) policies and sensitivity labels
  • Support enforcement of least-privilege access models across SharePoint, OneDrive, and Teams
  • Perform audits and remediation of permissions, file sharing, and data exposure risks
  • Assist with implementation and improvement of Microsoft Purview and compliance capabilities
  • Contribute to improving the organization’s overall security posture and AI readiness

NETWORKING & PROPERTY TECHNOLOGY SUPPORT

  • Perform basic troubleshooting of wired and wireless networking issues
  • Support wireless access points, switching, VLANs, and site connectivity
  • Assist with ISP escalations and vendor coordination
  • Support hospitality systems including front desk, POS, printers, and guest-facing technology
  • Assist with CCTV, access control, and IoT systems where required
  • Support property rollouts, upgrades, and new site deployments

USER EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & SECURITY AWARENESS

  • Deliver a professional, patient, and service-oriented support experience
  • Train new hires on systems, devices, and Microsoft tools
  • Deliver cybersecurity awareness and anti-phishing training sessions
  • Support simulated phishing campaigns and reinforce best practices
  • Create SOPs and user guides for common processes
  • Provide white-glove support to leadership and operational teams

DEVICE LIFECYCLE, ONBOARDING/OFFBOARDING & ASSET MANAGEMENT

  • Prepare, image, deploy, and maintain laptops, desktops, and mobile devices
  • Lead full onboarding and offboarding processes, ensuring secure provisioning and recovery of assets
  • Maintain accurate IT asset tracking and lifecycle records
  • Manage inventory, warranties, and replacement planning
  • Ensure devices meet corporate security and compliance standards
  • Assist with office setups, moves, and deployments

PLATFORM IMPROVEMENT & STANDARDIZATION

  • Identify gaps and recommend improvements in Microsoft and endpoint configurations
  • Support implementation of a ticketing system and service management processes
  • Contribute to improving IT processes, automation, and operational maturity
  • Help standardize systems across all properties

Requirements

  • 4+ years of experience in IT support, systems support, or IT operations
  • Strong hands-on experience with Windows desktop and endpoint troubleshooting
  • Proven experience administering Microsoft 365 in a business environment
  • Hands-on experience with Microsoft Intune (MDM), device policies, and endpoint compliance
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Entra ID (Azure AD), Conditional Access, and identity management
  • Experience supporting or implementing endpoint security, patching, and device hardening
  • Exposure to Microsoft Purview, DLP, or data governance is a strong asset
  • Familiarity with Microsoft 365 Copilot or AI-enabled tools is an asset
  • Basic to intermediate networking knowledge (wireless, switching, TCP/IP)
  • Experience with onboarding, offboarding, and device lifecycle management
  • Experience with IT asset tracking or inventory systems
  • Strong communication skills with a patient, service-oriented mindset
  • Comfortable delivering training sessions and user education
  • Ability to work independently in a multi-site, on-site environment
  • Must have access to a reliable vehicle and willingness to travel between Calgary, Canmore, and company properties
  • Strong organizational and prioritization skills
  • Hospitality or multi-site support experience is an asset
