This is a strategic and highly cross-functional product leadership role focused on shaping and optimizing personal lines insurance performance across alternative distribution channels at a national scale. You will be responsible for driving portfolio strategy, pricing, underwriting alignment, and distribution effectiveness across innovative partnerships such as embedded insurance, carrier integrations, and strategic national partners. The role blends product management, financial performance ownership, and market strategy execution in a highly analytical and collaborative environment. You will work closely with sales, underwriting, actuarial, and technology teams to ensure profitable growth and competitive positioning. It is ideal for a data-driven product leader who thrives in complex, regulated, and evolving market environments.

Accountabilities:
  • Own and execute multi-year state and portfolio strategies for personal lines products within alternative distribution channels, ensuring alignment with growth and profitability objectives.
  • Manage portfolio performance, including pricing, underwriting appetite, product structure, and distribution strategy to optimize P&L outcomes.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert on API-enabled distribution models and ensure seamless integration of product offerings across partner ecosystems.
  • Conduct financial analysis, forecasting, and performance monitoring, leveraging data insights to guide strategic and tactical decisions.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders including sales, marketing, underwriting, actuarial, legal, claims, and technology to execute state and product strategies.
  • Communicate strategy, performance insights, and recommendations to leadership and external partners, ensuring alignment and informed decision-making.
  • Develop and maintain regulatory and industry relationships while ensuring compliance with state-specific insurance requirements.
  • Lead and develop team members where applicable, supporting performance management, coaching, and organizational effectiveness.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, economics, actuarial science, mathematics, or related field; MBA or advanced degree preferred.
  • 8+ years of experience in insurance, underwriting, product management, or related personal lines roles.
  • Strong background in portfolio management, pricing strategy, or state-level insurance product ownership.
  • Deep understanding of personal lines insurance products, pricing architecture, underwriting practices, and regulatory environments.
  • Experience working with data analysis, forecasting, trend identification, and performance monitoring to drive business decisions.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with ability to interpret complex data sets and translate insights into strategy.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills with ability to influence across technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Experience with API-driven distribution models, digital ecosystems, or alternative insurance channels is highly preferred.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, lead cross-functional initiatives, and operate effectively in a complex, matrixed organization.
  • Professional designations such as CPCU or similar credentials are a plus.
Benefits:
  • Competitive salary range from approximately $97,000 to $180,000 depending on experience and location.
  • Performance-based incentives may apply depending on role structure.
  • Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision insurance coverage.
  • Paid time off including a minimum of 18 days annually, plus 9 paid holidays and additional paid leave benefits.
  • Retirement benefits including 401(k) with company match and a company-paid pension plan.
  • Life insurance, short-term and long-term disability coverage.
  • Professional development opportunities and access to training programs.
  • Flexible and inclusive work culture supporting collaboration and work-life balance.
  • Additional wellness, recognition, and employee support programs.
