Senior Director, Software Engineering

This is a strategic leadership opportunity for an experienced engineering executive passionate about building secure, large-scale AI-powered platforms. In this role, you will lead the engineering organization responsible for delivering real-time fraud detection systems that protect critical digital interactions across industries such as banking, healthcare, and insurance. You’ll oversee highly distributed engineering teams, shape technical strategy, and drive operational excellence across complex cloud-native environments. The position offers the chance to work at the intersection of AI, cybersecurity, identity verification, and scalable distributed systems. You’ll collaborate closely with product, research, and executive leadership to define the future of intelligent fraud prevention technologies. Accountabilities:
  • Define and execute the technical vision and long-term engineering strategy for large-scale fraud detection and identity verification platforms.
  • Lead and scale high-performing software engineering teams, including managing leaders across distributed and remote environments.
  • Drive the delivery of reliable, high-quality distributed systems and microservices operating across multi-cloud infrastructures such as AWS and GCP.
  • Partner cross-functionally with product, research, security, and executive stakeholders to align platform capabilities with customer and business priorities.
  • Establish engineering standards, architectural best practices, and operational excellence frameworks to ensure scalability, performance, and security.
  • Guide teams in the responsible adoption and integration of AI, machine learning, and automation technologies into core platform capabilities.
  • Improve engineering productivity, delivery predictability, and system resilience while fostering a collaborative and innovative engineering culture.
Requirements:
  • 10+ years of software engineering leadership experience, including significant experience leading managers and large engineering organizations.
  • Proven expertise building and scaling distributed systems, APIs, microservices, and high-availability cloud-native platforms.
  • Strong technical background with deep experience in AWS, GCP, or other enterprise cloud ecosystems.
  • Experience working with machine learning infrastructure, AI-driven systems, and Generative AI technologies.
  • Demonstrated success leading globally distributed or remote engineering teams within fast-paced technology organizations.
  • Strong strategic thinking skills with the ability to translate complex business priorities into scalable technical execution plans.
  • Excellent cross-functional collaboration and executive communication abilities.
  • Experience in fraud prevention, authentication technologies, identity management, or voice biometrics is highly valued.
  • Strong leadership presence with the ability to navigate ambiguity, drive execution, and build trusted relationships across teams.
