Job Summary
The Expeditor is responsible for monitoring and accelerating the progress of fabrication jobs to ensure on-time delivery. This role proactively facilitates rush orders, prepares standard progress reports, participates in client status meetings, and promptly notifies the Project Manager of any delays or risks. Acting as a key liaison across departments—including engineering, purchasing, production, quality, and shipping—the Expeditor identifies bottlenecks, drives timely resolution of issues, and ensures seamless coordination throughout the project lifecycle. The position requires strong organizational and communication skills to maintain transparency with both internal teams and customers, supporting overall project success and customer satisfaction. The Expeditor reports directly to Project Management.
Key Responsibilities
- Examine documents, materials, and finished products while monitoring work processes to ensure completeness, accuracy, and compliance with specifications and quality standards.
- Track and monitor production activities to ensure orders progress according to schedule and meet committed deadlines.
- Expedite both single-shot and large blanket orders throughout the production lifecycle, coordinating with cross-functional departments to resolve issues and maintain workflow continuity.
- Communicate with internal personnel, vendors, and customers to coordinate production and shipping activities, resolve complaints, and eliminate delays.
- Collaborate with shipping and accounting departments to ensure accurate processing and timely delivery, including providing required shipping documentation to customers.
- Maintain proper documentation and provide detailed updates regarding delays, challenges, or changes impacting cost estimates or delivery schedules.
- Prepare and maintain production schedules, generate progress reports, and proactively update clients on order status as required.
- Support operational needs by working overtime when necessary to meet project demands and deadlines.
- Perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned to support overall project and organizational objectives.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Technology field, Supply Chain or equivalent training/experience.
- Minimum of 2 Years Expediting experience within Oil & Gas or Manufacturing related industry highly preferred.
- Proficiency in ERP systems and Microsoft Office.
