Job Description
SHINE SPECT is seeking an Accounting Manager who will be responsible for performing a variety of accounting and financial tasks to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting. The Accounting Manager supports the month-end close process, account reconciliation review, general ledger maintenance, maintaining effective financial controls and assists with audits and compliance reporting. The Accounting Manager serves as a key contributor to the finance team, bringing a solid understanding of accounting principles and the ability to manage a growing accounting team.
This position is based in Massachusetts and requires presence on-site three days per week.
The base salary range for this position is $140,000-150,000 plus a comprehensive compensation package. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Month-End Close
- Lead the month-end and year-end closing processes
- Review journal entries, ensuring accuracy and proper documentation.
- Review monthly, quarterly, and annual account reconciliations for balance sheet and income statement accounts.
- Support the month-end and year-end close processes to ensure timely completion.
- Review and analyze general ledger accounts for accuracy and compliance with GAAP.
Reporting & Analysis
- Prepare and review financial statements (monthly, quarterly, annual).
- Support financial audits and compliance initiatives.
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards (e.g., GAAP) and regulatory requirements
- Partner with Finance to ensure operational performance reporting to leadership.
- Partner with Finance in the budgeting, forecasting, and long-range planning (LRP) activities.
Leadership & Collaboration
- Mentor and manage accounting staff
- Lead process improvement initiatives and support training on revised procedures.
- Develop and maintain internal controls
- Improve accounting systems and processes for efficiency
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- 6+ years of experience in general accounting (manufacturing or pharma experience preferred).
- Strong analytical and organizational skills.
- Experience with ERP systems (SAP preferred).
- Strong and Microsoft Excel.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively across teams.
