Parent Educator
Boulder Community Health, Boulder, CO 80303
$37.20 - $55.80 an hour - Per Diem Days, Various hours per week
*Range includes per diem differential. +$2.50/hr for weekend shifts.
Boulder Community health is seeking a Parent Educator who instructs and facilitates groups of consumers enrolled in childbirth and parenting classes at Boulder Community Hospital. The childbirth educator focuses on wellness,
health-promotion, and self-involvement, as well as knowledge of informed consent, and evidence-based care for the to- be mother and/or parent/caregiver.

Qualifications
•Colorado RN license in good standing and/or national Childbirth/Parent Educator Certification from the International Childbirth Education Association, Lamaze International, or CAPPA (Childbirth and Postpartum Professional Association) required.
•Minimum one year clinical experience in Obstetrics (RNs) preferred.
•Recent experience in teaching Childbirth/Parenting classes with adults/teens preferred.
Responsibilities
•Successful completion of competency based orientation.
•Follows childbirth/parenting class outline.
•Demonstrates knowledge base of childbirth/parenting education to include;
a. Current literature,
b. Technical aspects of pregnancy, labor and delivery, postpartum and basic infant care,
c. Parenting issues.
•Demonstrates understanding of group processes related to client’s race, sex, spiritual, age specific growth and developmental needs.
•Demonstrates collaborative interactions with parent education supervisor.
•Assists with quality improvement monitors to enhance quality of childbirth/parenting education offerings.
•Demonstrates flexibility in availability for class schedules.
•Timely completion of all assigned attendance/evaluation records.
