Position Summary

We are seeking a motivated and detail‑oriented Financial Analyst (Operations & Reporting) to support financial reporting, budgeting, and operational finance activities within a growing, multi‑entity organization.

Reporting to the Controller, this role plays an important role in supporting financial operations, capital tracking, and cross‑border activities across Canada and the United States. The Financial Analyst will work closely with internal stakeholders to ensure accurate and timely reporting, support business expansion initiatives, and contribute to the ongoing improvement and scalability of finance processes.

This position offers broad exposure to financial analysis, operational finance, capital projects, and compliance‑related activities in a dynamic and evolving business environment.

Role Overview

The Financial Analyst supports financial reporting, planning, and operational finance functions by preparing analyses, maintaining financial data and documentation, and contributing to a wide range of finance initiatives. The role balances analytical responsibilities with hands‑on coordination, documentation, and project‑based support, contributing to the accuracy, efficiency, and effectiveness of finance operations.

This role has a strong focus on process improvement, project-based work, and building scalable reporting and operational finance processes.

Key Responsibilities

Process Improvement & Projects

  • Support continuous improvement initiatives, including reporting enhancements, workflow optimization, and documentation
  • Assist with automation and reporting tools (e.g., Excel, Power BI); experience is an asset and development support will be provided.
    Support ad‑hoc financial analysis, special projects, and evolving finance initiatives as required
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support organizational objectives

Financial Reporting & Analysis

  • Prepare and analyze financial reports, forecasts, and variance analyses for internal stakeholders
  • Develop and maintain financial models, schedules, and reporting tools to support analysis and decision‑making
  • Support month‑end, quarter‑end, and ad‑hoc reporting activities across multiple legal entities

Budgeting, Forecasting & Performance Tracking

  • Support budgeting and forecasting processes, including tracking actual results against budget and forecast
  • Assist with performance monitoring and analysis to support operational and financial planning

Operational & Cross‑Border Finance Support

  • Support intercompany transactions and cross‑border financial activities between Canadian and U.S. entities
  • Maintain accurate financial data, reconciliations, and supporting documentation
  • Coordinate with internal teams and external advisors to ensure timely and accurate financial deliverables

Capital & Growth Initiatives

  • Track and compile costs related to capital projects and business expansion initiatives
  • Maintain capital asset records and supporting documentation for reporting, financing, and internal review

Qualifications

  • Degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field
  • 1–4 years of experience in financial analysis, reporting, or finance support
  • Progress toward a CPA designation is considered an asset
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including financial modeling, data analysis, and reporting
  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience with Power BI, reporting tools, or automation is an asset
  • Experience supporting multi‑entity or cross‑border operations is an asset
  • Manufacturing or industrial experience is considered an asset
  • Self‑motivated, proactive, and able to take ownership of responsibilities
  • Ability to identify opportunities for process improvement and operational efficiencies

Working Conditions

  • Standard office environment with regular use of computers, phones, and other office equipment
  • Extended periods of sitting and computer‑based work
  • Occasional coordination with operational teams across different locations and time zones
