This volunteer role offers the chance to shape the recruitment process for a mission-driven organization focused on civic engagement and technology for voters. You will manage the end-to-end recruitment of volunteers, from screening applications to conducting interviews and onboarding new team members. This position provides hands-on experience in talent acquisition, mentorship from experienced professionals, and the opportunity to contribute to a nonpartisan, inclusive movement for democracy. You will collaborate with a diverse team of volunteers, building relationships and helping the organization identify and welcome talent across technical and community-focused roles. The environment is fully remote, flexible, and supportive, allowing you to make a meaningful impact while developing professional recruiting skills.
- Screen volunteer applications and conduct video interviews to assess candidates’ skills and fit
- Guide candidates through the recruitment process, ensuring a welcoming and informative experience
- Partner with the Talent Acquisition Operations team to create, post, and refine volunteer opportunities
- Share the organization’s mission and help candidates understand how they can contribute meaningfully
- Suggest improvements to enhance the recruiting process and candidate experience
- Support the development of volunteer roles across technical, community, and advocacy functions
Requirements:
- 1+ year of professional recruiting experience, or recent graduates eager to begin a career in talent acquisition
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage candidates effectively
- Passion for civic engagement, nonpartisan work, and mission-driven initiatives
- Availability of 5–6 hours per week, including attendance at a weekly team meeting
- Comfortable working fully remotely within the United States
- Experience volunteering, organizing community activities, or working with diverse groups is a plus
- Interest in technology, inclusion, and creating accessible opportunities for all communities
