Job Description
Summary
Initiates and follows through on inquiries, appeals and denials from carriers. This description covers the essential functions of the position. Employee is expected to perform other similar and related duties as assigned. Management has the right to change or add to the job responsibilities at any time. Employee is expected to perform other similar and related duties as assigned. The employee should be a high school graduate with and Associate Degree preferred.
Key Roles & Responsibilities
· Responsible for the day to day billing of medical claims for clients accounts
· Works with clients on billing and registration
· Communicates with patients
· Communicates with insurance companies on billing issues
· Completes appeals on a daily basis
· Completes unpaid claims in a timely manner
· Completes all payment posting for clients in a timely manner
· Candidate is a team player with co workers
· Candidate must be detail oriented and organized
· All other duties as assigned
Qualifications
· Experience with ICD-9 and CPT codes a must
· Experience with outlook and Microsoft word a plus
· Ability to prioritize and communicate clearly
· Ability to work independently and in a team environment
- Medical billing experience with significant exposure to ambulatory medical billing practices and procedures
· Ensures compliance with billing policies and procedures
· Maintains currency in billing requirements
· Prompt reliable attendance
· Maintains integrity of UH | CNMG's systems, equipment and business
· Commitment to customer service with a pleasant, professional telephone demeanor
· Adherence of UH | CNMG's confidentiality agreement
