Job Description
The GIS & Research Analyst is an integral part of the Design and Analytics team that bolsters the efforts of our advisors in a wide array of situations and applications. The GIS & Research Analyst is an integrated role responsible for geographic information systems, mapping, and commercial real estate research. This position supports advisors, clients, and internal teams by delivering accurate GIS products, market analytics, and data driven insights. The role requires strong technical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to adapt to evolving research and analytic needs. The role is evolving and requires flexibility and adaptability to new and unique requirements.
GIS and Mapping Responsibilities
- Develop and produce advanced maps and spatial analyses using GIS platforms; ArcGIS preferred.
- Create, maintain, and improve GIS templates, dashboards, tools, and visualization standards.
- Build StoryMaps, dashboards, and visual reports that combine maps, demographic data, and market insights.
- Extract, clean, validate, and maintain geographic and demographic data from internal and third party sources.
Research and Analytics Responsibilities
- Create, update, and manage internal research databases including tenant information, competitive sets, business park summaries, stacking plans, and development overviews.
- Produce market overviews, space surveys, property comparables, and client specific research materials.
- Perform lease, sale, and valuation analyses using Excel or similar analytic tools.
- Support quarterly market reporting and contribute local data to national research platforms following established standards.
- Monitor local market activity and national real estate trends to inform analysis and recommendations.
- Bachelor’s degree or certification in Geography, Geographic Information Systems, Real Estate, Business, Economics, or a related field.
- Proficiency in GIS software; ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Online or Business Analyst preferred.
- Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.
- Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple deadlines.
- Excellent attention to detail and data accuracy.
Preferred Qualifications?
- Prior commercial real estate experience.
- Experience with data visualization, dashboards, or spatial storytelling tools.
