Life Enrichment Assistant at West View Manor Retirement Ctr – Wooster, Ohio

Qualifications and Job Description:

Outgoing, compassionate, and encouraging personality is needed as we cater to all levels of resident's needs, including Alzheimer's/Dementia.

Previous Health Care experience preferred, but not mandatory.

Duties include:

Must have basic computer skills

Organizing and preparing for daily events

Facilitating activities, transporting residents to events such as calling bingo, leading games, social events

Set up/cleanup for events.

Encourage and praise residents for attendance

Assist with residents having expressions of need

One on one/friendly visits

Daily Documentation on Care Assist

Interviewing Residents for interests & preferences

Assist with MDS assessments, progress notes & care plans

Assist with developing Monthly calendar, displaying creativity and resourcefulness

Assist in writing brief reports on resident's activities for their care conference as needed.

Must feel comfortable speaking to family members and answering any questions.

Other Duties as assigned

Creativity and use of resources are a must as you will be assisting in programming new activities that meet your resident's interests. Candidate should be highly motivated, resourceful of time, organized, flexible and team oriented.

Position requires considerable walking and pushing residents in wheelchairs to activities. Must regularly lift and/or move up to 40 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move more than 100 pounds.

Position in long term care but may require assistance for other AL events as needed along with any other job duties as assigned by the long-term care Life Enrichment Director.

Business casual attire with comfortable shoes, and professional minded.
