Commercial Handyman at Corby Energy Services Inc – Belleville, Michigan

About the Role

We are seeking a reliable, skilled, and self-motivated Commercial Handyman to join our maintenance team. The ideal candidate will handle general building maintenance, repairs, and small projects across several commercial properties and facilities in the Metro Detroit area. You’ll play a key role in ensuring our buildings are well-maintained, functional, and safe, while providing high-quality service and professionalism at every location.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform general repairs and maintenance on company buildings, facilities, and grounds (including plumbing, electrical, carpentry, drywall, painting, and minor HVAC work).
• Conduct inspections and preventative maintenance to identify potential issues before they become major repairs.
• Respond to service requests in a timely and professional manner.
• Assist with facility upgrades, remodeling projects, and installations as needed.
• Maintain tools, equipment, and work areas in clean and good working condition.
• Coordinate with property managers and company leadership to ensure maintenance needs are met at each location.
• Safely operate company vehicle to travel between job sites across Metro Detroit.

Qualifications

• Experience: Minimum 2–3 years of hands-on experience as a commercial or residential handyman, maintenance technician, or similar role.
• Education: High school diploma or equivalent (technical or trade certification a plus).
• Skills:
  • Strong knowledge of general maintenance trades (plumbing, electrical, carpentry, drywall repair, painting, etc.)
  • Ability to troubleshoot, problem-solve, and work independently.
  • Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
• Other Requirements:
  • Valid Michigan driver’s license and a clean driving record (company vehicle provided).
  • Ability to travel daily throughout Metro Detroit.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical labor as needed.
  • Strong communication and customer service skills.
