This role offers the opportunity to manage payroll operations and HR compliance for a multi-contract environment, including union and government agreements. You will ensure accurate and timely payroll processing while maintaining compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, including Service Contract Act requirements. The position provides a fully remote work setup, collaborating closely with HR and Benefits teams to keep payroll and timekeeping audit-ready. You will play a key role in supporting employee satisfaction through precise payroll management and fringe benefit allocation. This position requires attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to operate independently while contributing to a growing and structured HR function.
- Process payroll for 150+ employees across multiple government contracts, ensuring compliance with contract-specific wage rates and union agreements
- Maintain and update a Contract Payroll Matrix for all active contracts and verify timecard accuracy, including overtime, holiday pay, and union differentials
- Allocate Health & Welfare fringe benefits accurately in accordance with SCA and union requirements
- Maintain and audit payroll records in HRIS and payroll systems, ensuring error-free processing before each pay period
- Collaborate with HR Generalist and Benefits & Compliance HR on employee pay issues, timekeeping, and wage determinations
- Assist in payroll reporting for audits, government compliance, and management reviews
- Stay current on federal, state, and local payroll regulations, including prevailing wage laws
- 5–7 years of payroll experience, preferably in government contracting or union environments
- Knowledge of Service Contract Act (SCA), prevailing wage, and union payroll compliance
- Experience with Paycom and strong proficiency in payroll and HRIS platforms
- High attention to detail with ability to audit and reconcile payroll records
- Excellent communication, organizational, and multi-state payroll processing skills
- Ability to work independently in a fully remote environment
- Preferred: experience managing payroll across multiple contracts, handling audits, and implementing payroll systems and controls in growing organizations
- Competitive salary: $65,000/year
