About This Position
Job purpose
Infrastructure Precast Logistics is an equal opportunity at-will employer seeking a motivated and experienced Operational Excellence Manager to join our team. This full-time, on-site role at our Beaver Dam, KY location.
Duties and responsibilities
• Operational Excellence and Continuous Improvement
o Lead and support continuous improvement initiatives using Lean, Six Sigma, and other operational excellence methodologies.
o Analyze production workflows, labor utilization, quality metrics, and downtime to identify improvement opportunities.
o Develop, document, and implement standard work, SOPs, and best practices across plant operations.
o Facilitate Kaizen events, root cause analyses, and corrective action plans.
o Partner with production, engineering, and quality teams to improve throughput, quality, and cost performance.
• Onboarding and training
o Own and continuously improve the hourly and salaried employee onboarding process.
o Develop structured training programs for production, maintenance, quality, and support roles.
o Coordinate skills assessments, cross-training, and certification tracking (forklift, rigging, crane. Confined space, etc.)
o Maintain training records and ensure compliance with company, customer, and regulatory requirements.
o Support supervisors with training materials, job instructions, and performance development plans.
• Safety and Compliance
o Lead the facility safety program with a focus on injury prevention, hazard reduction, and regulatory compliance.
o Ensure compliance with OSHA, MSHA (if applicable), and company safety standards.
o Conduct safety audits, job safety analyses (JSAs), and incident investigations.
o Track and report KPIs for safety including TRIR, near misses, and corrective actions.
o Deliver safety training, toolbox talks, and onboarding safety orientation.
o Promote a proactive safety culture through employee engagement and accountability.
• Time and Attendance Oversight
o Administer and maintain time and attendance systems for hourly and salaried employees.
o Ensure accurate labor tracking, job costing, alignment, and payroll compliance.
o Audit time records for accuracy, policy compliance, and labor efficiency insights.
o Train supervisors and employees on timekeeping policies and system usage.
o Partner with HR/payroll to resolve discrepancies and improve processes.
• Other duties, as assigned.
Qualifications include:
• Associate or bachelor’s degree in business or related field.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and time management skills
• Excellent attention to detail, organizational, and problem-solving skills
• Experience in plant operations -lean processes, safety, job costing
• Experience leading teams, including training, onboarding, and auditing
Working conditions / Physical Requirements
• Industrial plant setting with exposure to concrete, dust, and machinery.
• Candidates should be able to work in various environments.
• Standing for long periods of time with frequent movement through the plant.
• Exposure to noise, chemicals, or machinery, as applicable for the work being performed.
• Use of PPE (i.e. gloves, safety glasses, hard hats, and/or ear protection).
• Ability to lift heavy objects on a regular basis, if required.
• Ability to complete repetitive tasks, as appropriate.
• Ability to work independently or in a team environment.
• Ability to work various work shifts and overtime, as required to meet project deadlines.
