POSITION PURPOSE

Responsible for designing, developing, and delivering new and existing training content that leverages adult learning theory to develop effective training programs. Manages the Fortera Library, including creating and maintaining the organization-wide Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) Library, ensuring accurate content is uploaded to the LXP/LMS. Serves as an internal consultant on design and implementation of strategic project initiatives regarding people, systems, and structure.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND BASIC DUTIES


Assumes responsibility for instructional design:

  • Conducts independent, in-depth needs analysis with business partners to identify business problems, learning objectives, level of change, or impact to staff to assess and develop plans for training delivery solutions, SOPs, and Job Aids.
  • Designs training content, applying knowledge of adult learning theory and instructional design models to identify appropriate training media and methodologies based on audience, course content, and location.
  • Selects the best delivery mode (Instructor-Led, e-learning, virtual, or video tutorials) and the best training methodologies (lecture, role-play, simulations, case study, self-study, on-the-job training, e-learning, job aid) based on the understanding developed from the in-depth needs analysis.
  • Partners with subject matter experts (SMEs) to document and develop curriculum requirements and program designs that meet organizational needs.
  • Designs and develops relevant content as needed, including high-level design documents, outlines, storyboards, facilitator's guide, and learner materials such as workbooks, handouts, job aids, PowerPoint presentations, quizzes, and videos.
  • Creates learning standards, tools, and templates for use by all learning teams.
  • Shares information and collaborates broadly within the organization regarding learning tools and templates.
  • Designs evaluation strategies and tools to measure effectiveness, and reviews evaluations and feedback to continuously improve programs.
  • Analyzes and applies trends and best practices in learning technologies and instructional design.
  • Consults with Learning Partners:

  • Consults with business training teams on the selection and use of online content and the use of online and virtual training tools.
  • Consults at all levels and areas of business to assess learning needs, recommend training or non-training interventions, develop learning solutions, and evaluate training programs.
  • Partners with team members, stakeholders, and SMES in the design and development of learning content.
  • Supports the full course lifecycle, from creation and updates to revisions and redesigns in both the LXP/LMS and Job Aids.
  • Presents learning solutions to leadership, creating comprehensive business cases and expected ROI for new content and programs.
  • Assigns training through the LXP/LMS to staff, and reports to management on employee training completion.
  • Works as LXP/LMS System Admin
  • Designs training manuals by identifying and describing information needs. Uses desktop publishing; works with the Marketing Department for brand adherence; submits initial versions for review before revising and editing the final copy.
  • Evaluates training by analyzing effectiveness of training against specific job applications.
  • Maintains technical knowledge by attending educational workshops and reviewing professional publications.
  • Researches and leverages industry trends, benchmarks, and best practices; providing guidance to management team when changes to material are necessary.
  • Maintains the training room, training equipment, training materials and other tools and functions associated with training programs.
  • Assumes responsibility for related duties as assigned.

  • Attends and participates in all required training sessions, meetings and committees.
  • Satisfactorily completes all required training and complies with all regulations which apply within the scope of the position to include OFAC, Bank Secrecy Act/Anti-Money Act Laundering, and USA Patriot Act compliance.
  • Participates in community and civic events to promote awareness of the Credit Union in the community.
  • Ensures that the Credit Union’s professional reputation is maintained both internally and externally.
  • Ensures work area and assigned equipment are clean, secure and well maintained.
  • Performs all other duties as assigned by management.

  • Team members are efficiently and effectively trained and prepared to perform their duties in accordance with established policies and procedures.
  • Training difficencies are readily identified and appropriate suggestions made to resolve them. Regular, timely and thorough updates are made to training content and procedures.
  • Training materials are professional, error free, and easy to follow. Effective graphics and screen shots are included.
  • Good working relationships and coordination exist with all personnel. Management is appropriately informed of area activities. Timely assistance is provided as needed.
  • Required reports and records are accurate, complete, and timely.

    QUALIFICATIONS

    Education/Certification:

    • Bachelor’s degree in Education, Instructional Design, Business, Human Resource Management or a related field; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
    • CTT or ATD Certification required; or must be able to obtain within 18 months

    Required Knowledge:

    • Knowledge of adult learning training techniques, systems and resources.
    • Working knowledge of SharePoint.
    • Demonstrated proficiency in MS Office.

    Preferred Knowledge:

    • In-depth knowledge of learning theories and instructional design models.
    • Knowledge or understanding of learning theory standards such as SCORM and AICC, as they relate to eLearning courses in an LMS.
    • Proficiency in multimedia tools including Camtasia, Canva, and Articulate.
    • Understanding of job functions and operations at all levels of the Credit Union.
    • Prior banking/credit union experience and knowledge of regulatory compliance.
    • Symitar system knowledge.

    Experience Required:

    • 4 to 7 years’ progressive experience in training-related positions.
    • 3 years’ successful training and content development experience preferred.
