Partner Veterinary is looking for an Oncology Veterinary Assistant to join our Richmond, VA team!

- We provide our team members with the tools, resources, training, and administrative support to promote an engaging work culture.
- Additionally, Partner Veterinary has a dedicated Learning and Development Department, to help assistants achieve your professional goals, supported by two veterinary technician specialists (VTS) Heather Carter and Christine Weaver.
- Partner Veterinary provides Veterinary Assistants with tuition support to an accredited Veterinary Technician program and mentorship to pass the VTNE

What does your day look like at Partner and Internal Medicine?
At Partner Veterinary Emergency & Specialty Center (PVESC), IMED Veterinary Assistant’s emphasis is on patient & client care, appointments, ultrasounds, and participate in anesthetic procedures.
At PVESC, Veterinary Assistants learn and refine specialized skills to care for a chronically ill patient population while building relationships with our pet families and referring community.

Our 20,000 square foot reimagined building and team design includes:
- Conscious and deliberate building design layout that encourages interdepartmental communication and collaboration
- Unique support roles that enable our team to practice at your highest level
Ample fluid pumps, syringe pumps, and monitoring equipment to enable quality patient care - Scribes document exams and facilitate discharging appointments
- Onsite advanced diagnostics, such as MRI, CT, Fluoroscopy and more
- Minimum 1-year veterinary assistant experience
- Internal Medicine or specialty experience is preferred, but not required
- Knowledge and dedication to high standard patient care practices
- A curious and motivated energy
- Interest in collaborating with the teams across the Partner network
Physical Requirements (ability to):
- Quickly process, analyze, and react to unplanned and emergent medical situations without delay, so as to ensure the safety of team members and patients
- Stand for up to 12 hours with limited breaks
- Lift up to 40 lbs without assistance
