About This Position

What the position entails:
Join GeoVerra as a student and receive hands-on experience with a company whose employee is at the heart of the organization. You will be responsible for efficiently process, manage and deliver field survey data using remote sensing technologies such as 3D laser scanning, mobile mapping and aerial surveying equipment. Ensuring the data meets industry quality standards as well as develop, automatize and document the required workflows. You will help with AI/ML Data classification, cataloging, indexing, and labelling. Work with variety of remote sensing data, checking for accuracy, completeness, consistency, relevance, and validity for machine learning. This role will also requires researching and test geospatial software and hardware, formulate and test theories and methodologies and some occasional fieldwork may be required.
What you will bring:

Target Progams: ENCI, ENGO, ENCI-AOS, ENGO-AOS

  • Currently pursuing a Diploma or Degree in Geomatics, Engineering Technology, or related discipline.
  • Knowledge of advanced technologies such as 3D laser scanning, mobile mapping and UAV is preferred.
  • Basic skills in point cloud processing and registration will be preferred. Experience using any of the following tools will be considered a strong asset: Leica Cyclone, Leica Register360, Trimble Business Center, Trimble RealWorks, Faro Scene, TopoDOT, 3DReshaper, TerraScan, and/or others.
  • Basic knowledge of drafting and feature extraction from point cloud data will be preferred. (i.e: AutoCAD/Civil3D, TopoDot, MicroStation)
  • Basic knowledge as-built 3D modeling is an asset.
  • Good oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work without day-to-day supervision.
  • Ability to work to deadlines and see tasks through to completion.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Programming language (Python, C#, etc.) is an asset
