Manager of Technology at Sandpiper Property Mgt – Richmond, Virginia

Sandpiper Hospitality is looking for a tech-savvy leader to join our team as the Manager of Technology Operations. If you are a problem-solver who thrives on keeping complex systems running smoothly and enjoys the energy of the hospitality industry, this is your chance to make a major impact.

Based in our Richmond, VA home office, you will be the go-to expert for ensuring our technology platforms—from corporate headquarters to our managed hotel portfolio—are secure, reliable, and ready for growth.

In this role, you aren't just managing hardware; you are the architect of the digital experience for our hotel teams, corporate associates, and guests. You will lead the charge on technology for new hotel openings, keep our security airtight, and ensure that every piece of tech in our portfolio is operating at peak performance.

Drive Operational Excellence: Own the day-to-day performance of all technology, ensuring stability and rapid resolution for any technical hurdles.

Lead the Expansion: Head up the technology onboarding and implementation for new builds and transitioning properties as we grow.

Command Vendor Partnerships: Manage and hold third-party IT, telecom, and cybersecurity providers accountable for high-quality service.

Fortify the Environment: Execute smart security controls, including MFA, patching, and identity management to keep our data safe.

Manage the Lifecycle: Oversee everything from provisioning and deployment to asset tracking and tech replacements.

Bridge the Gap: Translate "tech-speak" into clear, actionable priorities for hotel leadership and non-technical stakeholders.

An Experienced Pro: You have at least three years of IT operations experience, ideally in a multi-location environment like hospitality or retail.

A Tech Generalist: You have a solid handle on networking fundamentals, SaaS administration, and endpoint support.

A Road Warrior: You are ready to hit the road, with travel expected between 40% and 60% of the time to support our properties.

Cool Under Pressure: You can juggle multiple projects, prioritize on the fly, and stay calm when high-stakes issues arise.

Education: You have a high school diploma (required), though an Associate's or Bachelor's degree in a tech-related field is definitely a plus.

Location: Richmond, VA.

Status: Full-Time, Salary, Exempt.

Supervision: You will report to the SVP of Technology & Innovation and manage a Technology Associate.
