About This Position

About Current Clinic Management, LLC

Millions of people live with Atrial Fibrillation (AFib), a chronic condition that is often debilitating and under-treated. Access to timely, specialized care from electrophysiologists (EPs) remains a persistent challenge in many communities. Current Clinic is pioneering a new model, establishing a network of specialized, EP-focused ambulatory surgery centers (ASCs) to expand capacity and bring life-changing treatment closer to home.

As an Echo Vascular Technician at Current Clinic, you will perform high-quality diagnostic imaging that directly informs the care plans of patients living with Afib and related cardiovascular conditions. Your scans give our electrophysiologists the clarity they need to make confident clinical decisions, from pre-procedure planning to post-procedure surveillance. The work you do sits at the heart of our mission to bring expert cardiac care closer to the communities we serve.

You are a skilled sonographer who takes genuine pride in the quality of every study you produce. You are precise, methodical, and calm at the bedside, with a knack for putting patients at ease during an exam that can feel intimidating. You understand that strong imaging is a partnership between technologist and physician, and you welcome the dialogue that comes with it.

Beyond your technical skillset, you bring a collaborative spirit to the clinical team. You work closely with providers, medical assistants, and front office staff to keep the patient experience smooth from check-in through follow-up, and you are not afraid to jump in wherever you are needed.

What you will be doing
  • Perform complete transthoracic echocardiograms in accordance with ASE guidelines and Current Clinic protocols.
  • Conduct a full range of vascular ultrasound studies, including carotid duplex, venous duplex, arterial studies, and abdominal vascular imaging as ordered by the care team.
  • Prepare patients for each exam with clear explanations, attention to comfort, and a steady, reassuring presence throughout the study.
  • Produce clean, well-labeled images and preliminary measurements that give the broader clinical team the information they need to interpret studies efficiently.
  • Maintain and troubleshoot ultrasound equipment, coordinate routine service and quality assurance checks, and keep the imaging area organized and ready for the next patient.
  • Focument findings accurately and promptly in the EMR, ensuring reports are available to referring providers and integrated cleanly into each patient’s record.
  • Partner with medical assistants, nurses, and front office staff to keep daily schedules flowing smoothly and to flag any urgent findings to the physician team right away.
  • Contribute to the development of imaging workflows, standard operating procedures, and quality benchmarks as our Carlsbad clinic grows.
What we’re looking for
  • Active credentials as a Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT) and Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS), or equivalent ARDMS or CCI registries, with both echo and vascular specialties covered.
  • Graduation from an accredited diagnostic medical sonography or cardiovascular technology program.
  • Three or more years of hands-on experience performing echocardiography and vascular ultrasound in a clinical setting, ideally within a cardiology or electrophysiology practice.
  • Strong working knowledge of cardiac anatomy, hemodynamics, and common Afib-related imaging findings, including left atrial and left atrial appendage assessment.
  • Comfort with modern ultrasound platforms and EMR documentation, and a willingness to adopt new tools as our technology stack evolves.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, with the patience and warmth to care for an older patient population and the professionalism to partner closely with physicians.
  • Current BLS certification, with ACLS preferred.
  • Authorization to work in the United States and availability for a full-time schedule onsite in Carlsbad, NM.
