The Role of Practice Manager at Bettys

The Practice Manager is an outgoing, task-oriented professional who enjoys learning new things and working in a multifaceted role.

They must demonstrate strong attention to detail and have excellent organizational skills. Supervises the daily operations of the clinic to ensure smooth, efficient operations. Works closely with providers to ensure quality patient care and collaborates with operational leaders to execute the strategic plan effectively.

In addition, they must be responsible for delivering an exceptional customer (patient) experience, demonstrated by engaging and interacting with customers, embodying customer experience principles and philosophy, and maintaining a clean and organized clinic environment.

Primary Responsibilities

Please note the following is not intended to be an exhaustive list of all duties required of this position.

  • Supervise and advise practice operators on policy, procedures, and workflows.
  • Manage front-end revenue cycle workflows to achieve key performance indicators for practice revenue.
  • Conduct weekly rounds with staff to ensure compliance with standards, supporting employee engagement and development goals.
  • Manage billing partners and back-end claims processing to ensure timely and accurate billing
  • Coordinate with leadership in preparing and developing the annual operating budget and monitor performance.
  • Utilize data for informed decision-making on practice operations and provide updates to leadership.
  • Hire, train, monitor, and retain staff.
  • Continuously monitor the performance of direct reports, providing additional training as needed, and conducting annual performance evaluations.
  • Manage work schedules and ensure appropriate staffing levels.
  • Supervise and manage inventory for medications and medical equipment, ensuring resupply and maintenance.
  • Manage security, occupational health, and safety at assigned practices.
  • Lead practice-based committees to engage staff in operational decisions.
  • Manage calendar and logistics of mobile clinic activity, including location schedule, transportation*, site arrangements, and other.
  • Bring new ideas, a positive attitude and lots of energy.
  • Maintain patient confidentiality.
  • Model leadership behaviors that support a positive culture by living out Bettys values of harmony, empathy, kindheartedness, community, and humility.
  • Communicate effectively and courteously, and demonstrate a caring attitude toward patients and their families.

*Hauling/towing the mobile clinic is not expected of this position.

Requirements

  • A bachelors degree in healthcare administration, public health, health information management,or business administration is required. 3+ years of experience in ambulatory practice management may be substituted for a degree.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills to effectively communicate with physicians, other medical professionals, office personnel, and patients.
  • Excellent analytical and problem- solving skills, with a background in financial management.
  • Customer service experience.
  • Ability to think critically and problem solve.
  • Experience working in a team environment.
  • Proven ability to meet and exceed internal and external customer expectations.
  • Attention to detail and organization.
  • Proven experience managing multiple priorities.
  • Discretion with sensitive material and communications.

Location

This role is based primarily in San Antonio, Texas. Will require an in-person office setting at Bettys Co. business office location. The specific location of the mobile clinic may vary across the city, with occasional visits as far as Austin, Texas. For travel outside the greater San Antonio area, mileage will be reimbursed at the current standard tax rate.


Schedule

Monday- Friday. Hours may vary week-to-week between 8:30am 5:30pm, with the expectation of a 40- hour average work week.

Pay

$65K-$75K annual salary
