About This Position
Assistant Director of Educational Services position is available. The Assistant Director of Educational Services is supervised by Program Director. The Assistant Director of Educational Services is responsible for the development and supervision of all aspects of educational programming and habilitative activities for those students in our residential program. General Job Responsibilities:
Department Oversight: In collaboration with the Program Director and Assistant Clinical Director, establish team and student-specific goals related to the provision of state-of-the art programming to ensure therapeutic treatment and education.
Educational and habilitative responsibilities:
- Ensure educational systems are intact and operating efficiently
- Collaborate with the Assistant Clinical Director to ensure coordination of clinical and educational programming
- Collaborate with specialty service providers to facilitate team and student goals
- Spend a significant amount of time working with students and teachers in their educational settings to ensure educational and habilitative goals are being addressed, to model teaching procedures, to train teachers in vivo, and to probe new initiatives
- Set up and monitor systems to ensure educational and habilitative outcomes
- Work directly with team leaders to generate protocols for assessment and teaching of priority skills
- Demonstrate cultural responsiveness in educational & habilitative applications, serve as a role model
- Participate in students’ assessment & student planning meetings
- Carry clinical on-call phone
Supervisory/Training responsibilities include serving as a resource to Education Coordinators and Program Specialists on development and execution of educational programming and ensure training for all staff.
Administrative/Service responsibilities include implementation of NECC clinical policies and procedures, systems development and planning, and training of NECC best instructional policies and procedures.
Qualifications:
- Masters or doctorate in Psychology, Behavior Analysis, or Education (specialty disciplines included)
- MA Severe Special Education license required
- BCBA and LABA required
- Has a well-developed educational and clinical skill set
- Strong interpersonal skills & will work well with Directors and Administration and as part of an interdisciplinary team
- Demonstrates personal competencies in areas of principles of ABA
- Experience in staff supervision
