Job Description

Title: WBL/Community Liaison
Reports To: Counseling Manager
Position DescriptionSummaryEssential Functions
  1. Complies with all Management, Corporate, and Government Directives and Standard Operating Procedures.
  2. Coordinates and communicates with other departments pertaining to marketing and public relations.
  3. Point of contact person for all center updates. Responsible for distributing current updates and information for all centers recruited for by the project.
  4. Responsible for coordination of the contract’s annual Outreach and Public Education Plan.
  5. Reviews and makes recommendations on all Admission Counselor and Career Transition Specialists outreach plans
  6. Develops quarterly Community/Employer outreach Communications Plans.
  7. Represents the project in community projects as well as public, social, and business gatherings.
  8. Maintains an employer/community contact activity log.
  9. Keeps Project Director apprised of any significant community/employment trends and issues.

Coordinates guest speakers to discuss various employability topics with students.

Establishes and maintains relationships with employers, labor organizations, economic development agencies, and training/education providers.

  1. Represents the program in community projects as well as public, social, and business gatherings.
  2. Coordinates with Project Director on outreach goals, plans, initiatives, and campaigns.
  3. Effectively facilitates workshops and/or classroom activities.
  4. Models, mentors, and monitors the positive normative culture.
  5. Acts as a responsible custodian for the assigned property.
  6. Reports violations of ethical behavior.
  7. Suggests opportunities for continuous operational improvement and reduction of waste.
  8. Identifies and reports environmental health and safety concerns.

RequirementsRequired Education & Experience
  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent (required) from an accredited school (preferred)
  • 4 years experience in Sales, Marketing, Public Relations, and/or community outreach
  • Previous Job Corps or related program experience (preferred)
Certifications/Competencies
  • Ability to interact with employees, employers, and program participants
  • Ability to establish a liaison and interact with private and public agencies
  • Appropriate personal attendance, accountability, and work productivity standards
  • Ability to plan, prioritize, and organize assignments to meet established goals and deadlines
  • Ability to conduct community outreach
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Computer literacy; proficiency in spreadsheet and word processing applications required
Minimum Eligibility Qualifications
  • If the position requires driving, a valid driver’s license in the state of employment with an acceptable driving record is required
  • I-9 documentation required to verify authorization to work in the United States
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment drug test and background check
