Security Guard - Building Fire Watch at Chicanos Por La Causa – Phoenix, Arizona

On-Call Nights Monday- Sunday - you can let us know your availabilty and maybe it can work. We are hiring several people to cover the week.

OBJECTIVE AND POSITION SUMMARY

Fire Watch duties are monitoring and conducting the watch. Patrolling the premises, monitoring and controlling access, and reporting any restrictions or obstructions of entrances. Walking to check exit doors, including stairwells to ensure safety and adhere to the fire code. Protect the business’ property, staff and the environment by keeping the location secure by making rounds of assigned areas. Immediately report any sign of smoke, fire or other emergency to 911 and the site leader. Activate the fire alarm system when the building is equipped with such a system and notify the building area and follow evacuation process with people in the area.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Patrolling and monitoring activities on the company’s premises regularly to discourage criminals and ensure the environment is safe and secure
• Evicting trespassers and violators and detaining perpetrators while following legal protocols before relevant authorities arrive to take over
• Controlling the entrance and departure of employees, visitors and vehicles according to protocols
• Providing detailed reports on daily activities and any incidents that may have occurred to management
• Using provided communication devices such as two-way radios in a clear and concise manner for contacting 911 and with the site.
• Maintain and sign-off of fire watch log of the areas under watch noting date and time of round check including comments observed.
• Submit fire watch logs to site leadership to be available to Fire Department.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND COMPETENCIES

Education /Background:

• High School Diploma or equivalent experience
• AZ Fingerprint Clearance
• Must be at least 18 years of age
