Job Description
Job Title - BCBA Behavior Analyst
Job Duties:
The BCBA Behavior Analyst will report to the Head of School/Principal/CEO and will complete but is not limited to the following duties:
Job Responsibilities:
- Conduct functional behavior assessments, collect data, and prepare a variety of reports for the purpose of documenting case history assessments, and treatments.
- Consult with teachers to provide behavioral interventions, creating programs and behavior intervention plans.
- Work with the students who exhibit inappropriate behaviors, providing support and professional learning for staff who work with students who exhibit such.
- Plan, manage, and evaluate assigned staff efforts to properly address behavioral excesses and deficits by building functional skill repertoires.
- Review all student records and skill areas, confer with classroom teachers, and observe students in the classroom setting as per mandate.
- Supervise ongoing behavioral programs, assess the performance of programs, and adjust as necessary.
- Manage electronic data regarding students' progress.
- Ability to build strong, supportive relationships with parents and other caregivers.
- Respect cultural diversity and the capability to adapt procedures to that diversity.
- Detail-oriented with excellent written and verbal skills.
- Ability to communicate effectively in English, both orally and in writing with students, staff, administration, and the community.
- Support the philosophy and vision of The Newgrange School.
- Performing related duties as assigned.
Job Requirements:
- A valid New Jersey Certificate of School Psychologist or Social Worker with an acceptable graduate degree from an accredited university, completion of acceptable graduate coursework in behavior analysis, or Board Certified Behavior Analyst Doctoral Certification in good standing through the Behavioral Analyst Certification (BCBA) Board.
- Minimum of three (3) years working in an effective and accredited behaviorally oriented program for individuals with autism or emotional or behavioral disorders.
- Demonstrate effective problem-solving, communications, organization, planning, record-keeping, and human relations skills.
- Demonstrate ability to work effectively with students, staff, parents, and administrators.
- Excellent integrity and demonstrates good moral character and initiative.
- Demonstrate effective organizational skills.
- NJDOE Fingerprints required.
