Job Title: Education Specialist

Program: Supported Education

Location: 725 Airport Road, Lakewood, NJ

Position Type: Full Time

Salary $35,010.00

Job Description/Summary

LEARN is a supported education program that aims to provide educational and support services to people with psychiatric disabilities in post-secondary setting so that they can have access to and successfully utilize the educational environment. The Education Specialist helps to create rich social and vocational networks that increase career maturity and improve quality of life, self-esteem as well as a stigma free identity.

Responsibilities

  • Assist program participants with Psychiatric Vocational Rehabilitation.
  • Provide timely and effective advocacy, consultation, service coordination and evaluation.
  • Provide skill development with organizing, planning, time management and other common college needs.
  • Provide linkage to post secondary and financial resources.
  • Assist participants with academic skills, communication skills, interpersonal skills and ethics

  • Demonstrates creativity and effective problem solving
  • Provides positive role modeling and reflects an enthusiastic attitude
  • Ensures documentation of service provided is completed timely and in an evidenced-based manner
  • Participates with the team to improve methods and procedures to achieve common goals
  • Adheres to program standards and organizational policy and procedure

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's level degree in Human Services field preferred; or
  • AA with 2 years relevant experience or 5 years relevant experience
  • Driver's License in good standing
