Job Description

SUMMARY OF POSITION

This role is to be a board-certified physician, practicing with a Kansas medical license, who will provide optimal family medicine care in a primary care medical home practice. Performs professional medical activities as a physician providing acute, chronic and preventative medical care.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES
  • Makes competent health care diagnosis and treatment decisions.
  • Supervises health care performed by Nurse Practitioners, Physician’s Assistants, Clinical Pharmacists, to include being available by telephone to provide back-up and information during normal office hours, when scheduled to work.
  • Collaborates with members of the multidisciplinary team, including peers and healthcare workers, as needed to meet comprehensive patient needs.
  • Assists CMO in establishing academic medical education affiliations and providing clinical teaching supervision and oversight.
  • Assists in design, implementation and evaluation of clinical services.
  • Reviews received laboratory, radiology and consultation reports on all patients in a timely manner.
  • Provides input to the Quality Improvement program, development and implementation of quality guidelines.
  • Works with the CMO to improve clinic productivity and to enhance the cost-effectiveness of health services.
  • Assist other staff in complying with any special conditions of grant awards, rules, regulations or laws.
  • Attends clinical and organizational meetings.

  • Accepts and uses supervision, direction and consultation to maximize available resources in the completion of work duties.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
  • Graduate of an approved medical school.
  • Licensed to practice medicine in the State of Kansas.
  • Board certified or Board eligible in Pediatrics.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification required.
  • Active Kansas DEA
  • Ability to relate to a broad and diverse spectrum of the community.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective, courteous working relationships with patients, volunteers and team members.
  • Ability to work independently and in a professional manner.
  • Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to prioritize and perform multiple tasks.
  • Ability to understand and present verbal instructions and to exchange verbal information.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective, courteous working relationships with patients, coworkers and others.
  • Ability to work in Windows based computer environment and efficiently utilize EMR.
  • Ability to work at multiple clinical sites as directed including own transportation.
  • Fluency in Spanish language is preferred.

  9. Hold current drivers’ license and reliable transportation.
  10. Travel to all parts of the facility and throughout the community.

  • Employment is contingent upon successful clearance from Criminal, Kansas and Missouri Child/Elder Abuse and Neglect, Sex Offender background investigations, TB testing, pre-employment drug testing, and verification of Hepatitis-B, flu and COVID-19 immunizations.
  • Occasional evening and weekend availability are required.
