To provide counseling, education and support to clients with substance abuse issues
Duties
- Maintains the standards of care for substance use disorder (SUD) treatment services and implements and upholds the policies and procedures of Little Hill-Alina Lodge.
- Creates a customer-friendly environment consistent with Alina Lodge’s care model. Demonstrates regard for the dignity and respect of all guests, their families, guests, representatives, fellow employees, volunteers, and medical staff of the facility. Supports the mission to provide consistent quality care services in a professional, caring, and responsive environment.
- Conducts assessment of the guest’s substance use disorder, the conditions contributing to the SUD, the strengths of the individual as well as their needs in order to facilitate recovery.
- Demonstrates the knowledge and skills to provide care to the guest based upon principles of recovery, growth, and personal development and can guide the guest to attain and maintain sustained recovery.
- Reports pertinent observations regarding guest to the multidisciplinary team through participation in treatment team meetings.
- Monitors and observes guest’s behavior to see that any infraction of the rules is identified and corrected in a therapeutic manner. Respects the rights, property and privacy of each individual guest while teaching the guest self-discipline and recovery principles.
- Establishes and maintains communication with the guest and other significant individuals such as family members, referral sources, legal representatives, authorized employers et al.
- Maintains highest standards of confidentiality of all matters involving the guest.
- Adheres to NAADAC Code of Ethics.
- Documents all relevant information regarding the guest in the confidential Electronic Medical Records system. Keeps charts up to date and in compliance.
- Lectures to guests regularly, conducts individual and group sessions.
- Conducts spot checks of living quarters with another appropriate staff member to ensure safety and well-being of guests in residence.
- Perform other functions as directed by the Executive Director or Clinical Director.
- Review and process clinical correspondence and community write-its, with staff as indicated and delegate tasks to associates or designated staff
- Assume responsibility to initiate behavioral contracts and restrict privileges as clinically indicated for individuals or the community in general.
- All other duties as assigned.
Skills
- Experience in therapy modalities relevant to clinical counseling, including individual and group settings.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to foster rapport with clients and families.
- A strong commitment to professional development and staying current with industry trends.
- Experience: Experience in a clinical setting preferred
Qualifications:
- LSW or LAC current licensure
- Educational: College degree required.
- CADC
- CPR Certication
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- The physical demands and work environment require walking, bending, standing, climbing stairs, driving, and running standard office equipment. Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds. Reasonable accommodation may be made for individuals with disabilities.
