Job Description

Position Overview: The 3rd Shift Setup Supervisor reports to the 3rd Shift Setup and Cleaning Manager and is responsible for providing general supervision to full and part-time Setup and Cleaning staff, ensuring that employees follow all WCD policies and procedures. Additionally, the 3rd Shift Setup Supervisor will also execute general setup activities within all Wisconsin Center District facilities. This position is subject to work weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the knowledge and supervision of all Setup staff
  • Train all Setup staff when it comes to proper procedures and supplies
  • Enforce WCD attendance, uniform, radio, disciplinary policies and safety rules
  • Responsible for the knowledge, training, repairs, and supervision of Setup equipment
  • Check the attendance line for any staff call off messages and report those to the 3rd Shift Setup and Cleaning Manager. In the absence of the Manager, report to the Director of Setup
  • Maintain a harmonious and cohesive work environment among staff
  • Create and distribute daily work assignments for their shift
  • Act as Cleaning Shift Supervisor on days when the corresponding supervisor is off
  • Sign off on work orders at the end of the shift and updating the incoming supervisor and director on status of tasks
  • Check Momentus Elite to get the most up to date information and relaying changes to staff
  • Assist with, and execute all of the responsibilities of the Setup staff; including the satisfactory and timely completion of assigned tasks, setup and take down of event floor plans
  • Maintain proper communication to the all-Setup Shift Supervisors to ensure that staff are prioritizing duties and keeping on deadlines
  • General maintenance of Setup equipment at WCD including, but not limited to: chair and table carts, stage legs, stairs and railings, fold and drop staging and repairs to risers
  • Capable of using industrial equipment such as large vacuums or buffers; operate riding and walk behind equipment
  • Maintain all areas of the facilities in safe and clean condition
  • Report equipment/cleaning product needs and or malfunctions to Director in a timely fashion
  • Assist guests whenever possible, referring all requests which are beyond the scope of responsibility immediately to the 3rd Shift Setup and Cleaning Manager or to the Director of Setup
  • Attend work on time as scheduled and adheres to attendance policy
  • Coordinate with third party groups such as Local 770 to ensure proper changeover of WCD spaces
  • The primary shift is 3rd shift, however, must be able to work flexible and irregular hours including days, evenings, and late nights, weekends and/or holidays, event by event basis

  • Strong project management and organizational skills in which the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks/projects on time is essential; excellent situational adaptability

  • Superior communication skills and the ability to convey information in an engaging, positive manner

  • Ability to work flexible and irregular hours that may vary due to functions and may include day, evening, weekends and holidays as event calendar or deadlines dictate
  • Ability to read, write, and speak English; perform basic mathematical functions (add, subtract, multiply and divide)
  • Follow oral and written instructions and communicate effectively with others in both oral and written form
  • Must be able to lift, carry, push and pull up to 50lbs

Education & Experience:

• Required

  1. High School diploma or equivalent required
  2. Valid Driver’s License

• Preferred

  1. Prior cleaning knowledge, skills and abilities
  2. Prior event setup knowledge, skills and abilities
  3. Previous supervisory or leadership experience

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, and peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus, and. The noise level in the work environment is moderate to loud. Specific hearing abilities required by this job include the ability to hear to be able to listen to a radio to respond to and deliver calls and instructions.
