Job Description
PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES/ POSISTION PURPOSE: A Food Runner is responsible for maintaining and transporting all food products for designated outlets in HPH’s continuing effort to deliver outstanding guest service and financial profitability.

60% | Delivering food orders from the kitchen to customers’ tables and/or to-go orders, rapidly and accurately. |
20% | Ensure food is served in accordance with safety standards |
5% | Check station before, during and after shift for proper set-up and cleanliness. |
5% | Maintains stock and cleanliness/sanitation of stations. |
5% | Assist the wait staff with guest requests. |
5% | Other duties as assigned by immediate supervisor. |
SUPPORTIVE FUNCTIONS
As a Food Runner, you would be responsible for maintaining and transporting all food products for a designated outlet or outlets in the hotel's continuing effort to deliver outstanding guest service and financial profitability. Specifically, you would be responsible for performing the following tasks to the highest standards:
- Transport food items to and from the kitchen.
- Perform general cleaning to maintain cleanliness of work area.
- Attend mandatory meetings.
- Perform general cleaning tasks to adhere to health and safety standards.
- Complete other duties as assigned by supervisor.

OTHER DUTIES
Regular attendance in conformance with the standards which may be established by Hyde Park Hospitality, LLC from time to time, is essential to the successful performance of this position.
Due to the cyclical nature of the hospitality industry, employees may be required to work varying schedules to reflect the business needs of the restaurant(s).
Upon employment, all employees are required to abide fully with Hyde Park Hospitality and Hilton rules and regulations for the sale and efficient operation of restaurant(s) and hotel facilities. Employees who violate Hotel rules and regulations will be subject to disciplinary action, up to and including termination of employment.
SAFETY REQUIREMENTSOSHA laws require the use of the following Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) when performing work duties that have the potential of risk to your health or safety:
Team members will be trained in the proper use and care of assigned PPE. The hotel provides the required PPE. It is your responsibility to report defective, damaged, or lost PPE, or equipment that does not fit properly, to your manager.
SPECIFIC JOB KNOWLEDGE, SKILL, AND ABILITY
The individual must possess the following knowledge, skills and abilities and be able to explain and demonstrate that he or she can perform the essential functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation.
- Must have basic knowledge of food and beverage preparation and service of various alcoholic beverages.
- Knowledge of the appropriate table settings, Service ware and menu items
- Ability to read, write and speak the English language to complete requisitions, read recipes and communicate with the guest, and take orders.
- Ability to remember, recite and promote the variety of menu items.
- Ability to transport large trays, weighing up to 40lbs., through a crowded room on a continuous basis, throughout shift.
- Ability to operate beverage equipment, such a blender.
- Ability to operate a keyboard and learn point of sale procedures to pre-check an order and close out a check.
High School graduate or equivalent preferred
EXPERIENCE
Prefer six (6) months to one-year previous serving experience. Prior hospitality experience preferred.
LICENSES OR CERTIFICATES
Must obtain any government required licenses or certificates.
Examples include Food Service Sanitation certification. Alcohol service permit (if state required). CPR/1st Aid certification preferred.
GROOMING/UNIFORMS
All employees must maintain a neat, clean, and well-groomed appearance. Specific uniform guidelines and/or required articles of clothing will be explained to you as a part of the orientation process.
NOTICE:
The hospitality business functions seven days a week, twenty-four hours a day. In Addition, this is hospitality business, and a hospitality service atmosphere must be projected at all times.
