The ARC of the Treasure Coast, a diverse and progressive nonprofit organization, is seeking Out-of-School Counselors to support our Out-of-School Program. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a meaningful impact by providing a safe, engaging, and supportive environment where children can learn, grow, and build lasting friendships.


Position Details

Schedule: Monday–Friday, 12:30 PM – 5:30 PM (approximately 25 hours per week)


Responsibilities
  • Provide care, supervision, and support to children during after-school program activities.
  • Plan and facilitate age-appropriate recreational, educational, and enrichment activities.
  • Encourage the development of communication, social, behavioral, and independent living skills.
  • Foster a positive, inclusive, and engaging environment for all participants.
  • Maintain regular communication with supervisors regarding participant progress and any concerns.
  • Attend required training and professional development opportunities.
  • Complete required documentation and program records accurately and timely.
  • Safely transport participants using ARC vehicles for scheduled activities when assigned.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED (or currently enrolled in high school or a vocational program).
  • Valid Florida driver's license with an acceptable driving record (preferred if transportation duties are required).
  • Preferred: At least one (1) year of experience working with children or individuals with developmental disabilities.
  • Must be dependable, energetic, patient, and passionate about making a difference in the lives of others.
