Position Overview

As a Heavy-Duty Truck Welder/Fabricator, you'll perform welding, fabrication, modification, and structural repair work on heavy-duty commercial trucks, gravel trains, dump trucks, trailers, and related equipment.

This position is ideal for someone who is comfortable working with heavy steel, understands how to build and repair components that withstand demanding working conditions, and takes pride in producing strong, clean, professional work.

You'll work on everything from structural repairs and reinforcement to custom brackets, mounts, supports, truck and trailer components, and one-off fabrication projects.

Every job can present a different challenge, so we're looking for someone who can look at a problem, determine the best way to repair or build it, and turn that solution into quality finished work.

What You'll Do

Perform welding and fabrication on heavy-duty trucks, gravel trains, dump trucks, trailers, and commercial equipmentFabricate, repair, modify, and reinforce steel componentsPerform structural repairs on truck and trailer componentsWeld and repair dump bodies, beds, trailers, brackets, mounts, supports, and related equipmentFabricate custom parts and components based on the needs of the repairMeasure, cut, fit, form, and assemble steel and other materialsPerform MIG welding and other welding processes as requiredUse plasma cutters, torches, grinders, saws, drills, and other fabrication equipmentRemove damaged or worn components and fabricate replacement pieces when necessaryRepair cracks, broken welds, damaged brackets, supports, and structural componentsPerform reinforcement and modification work on trucks and trailersRead measurements, drawings, and specifications to complete fabrication projectsInspect completed welds and fabrication work for quality and proper fitWork with diesel technicians and Service Advisors to determine effective repair solutionsDocument repairs and materials accuratelyMaintain welding and fabrication equipmentWork safely while maintaining a clean and organized work areaComplete repairs with an emphasis on strength, safety, durability, and quality workmanship

What We're Looking For

Welding and fabrication experienceExperience working with heavy steel and structural componentsMIG welding experienceAbility to measure, cut, fit, and fabricate components accuratelyExperience using common welding and fabrication equipmentStrong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skillsAbility to determine how damaged components should be repaired, reinforced, or replacedAbility to work independently on fabrication projectsAttention to detail and pride in quality workmanshipValid driver's licenseTeam-oriented attitude and strong work ethicAbility to perform the physical requirements associated with heavy-duty fabrication work

Heavy truck experience is preferred, but we're also interested in experienced welders and fabricators from heavy equipment, construction, agricultural, trailer, structural steel, or similar industries.
