Job Description

Description:

Position Summary

The Implementation Specialist leads the end-to-end onboarding and implementation of the company’s EMR and revenue cycle platform for new and existing clients. This is a dual-competency role that requires both hands-on technical configuration and instructional-design capability. The successful candidate owns the full implementation lifecycle — discovery and scoping, system design and build, integrations, testing, and go-live — and designs and delivers the training that drives user competency and long-term adoption. The role demands someone equally comfortable configuring a platform to a client’s revenue cycle workflows and standing in front of that client’s providers and billing staff to teach them how to use it. Full-cycle Revenue Cycle Management (RCM) expertise and EMR experience are required.

Dual Competency

This role is intentionally hybrid and both halves are required, not optional:

Technical configuration — owning system design, build, configuration, and integrations that map the platform to each client’s clinical and revenue cycle workflows.

Instructional design — applying adult-learning principles to build and deliver role-specific training that drives measurable time-to-competency and adoption.

Key Responsibilities

Discovery & Scoping

• Lead in-depth discovery sessions with practice leadership to document clinical workflows, full-cycle revenue cycle/billing processes, strategic objectives, and operational pain points.

• Translate discovery findings into a clear implementation plan and configuration requirements aligned to each client’s goals.

System Configuration & Build

• Own system design, build, and configuration, customizing the platform to align with client workflows and RCM operations.

• Develop repeatable, scalable configuration approaches that ensure smooth, consistent implementations.

Integrations

• Lead technical integration work and discussions across products utilizing HL7, APIs, sFTP, and webhooks, partnering with data-migration, IT, and product teams.

Testing & Go-Live

• Develop and execute testing strategies and quality assurance to validate functionality; guide clients through User Acceptance Testing (UAT).

• Manage go-live and ensure a smooth handoff to the RCM Operations and IT Support teams.

Training & Enablement (Instructional Design)

• Design and deliver role-specific training (virtual and on-site) for providers, billing staff, and administrators, applying adult-learning and instructional-design methodology.

• Create and maintain training collateral — SOPs, quick-reference guides, and workflow documentation.

• Evaluate user competency, deliver targeted remedial training, and drive adoption in the post-go-live window to reduce support ticket volume.

Project Management

• Independently manage multiple client implementations simultaneously owing plans, milestones, risks, and stakeholder communication against target go-live dates.

Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, Information Technology, or a related field (equivalent healthcare-IT implementation experience may be considered in place of a degree).
  • 3+ years (5+ preferred) in client-facing healthcare-IT implementation, technology integration, or an RCM-related environment.
  • Full-cycle Revenue Cycle Management (RCM) expertise — required.
  • EMR experience — required.
  • Hands-on experience with products utilizing HL7, APIs, sFTP, and webhooks.
  • Demonstrated instructional-design / adult-learning capability and experience delivering end-user training.
  • Proficiency with eLearning tools (e.g., Camtasia, Adobe Captivate) and project-management tools (e.g., Microsoft Project, Smartsheet).
  • Strong communication and facilitation skills for both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Ability to travel 25–30%.

Preferred

• Certified Professional Coder (CPC) credential.

• Certification in instructional design or adult learning.
