Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Qualified Medication Aide to join our team in providing exceptional care to residents in an assisted living environment. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in patient care, particularly in memory care and senior care settings. As a Qualified Medication Aide, you will play a vital role in ensuring the health and well-being of our residents by administering medications and monitoring their vital signs.

Responsibilities

• Administer prescribed medications to residents according to established protocols.
• Monitor and document residents' vital signs, reporting any significant changes to nursing staff.
• Assist with daily living activities, ensuring the comfort and safety of residents.
• Maintain accurate records of medication administration and resident care.
• Collaborate with nursing staff to develop and implement individualized care plans.
• Provide support for hospice care as needed, ensuring dignity and respect for all residents.
• Utilize medical terminology effectively when communicating with healthcare professionals.
• Ensure compliance with all health regulations and facility policies.

Qualifications

• Certification as a Qualified Medication Aide is required.
• Previous experience in assisted living or senior care settings is preferred.
• Knowledge of memory care practices and patient care techniques is highly desirable.
• Familiarity with vital sign monitoring and medical office systems is a plus.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a team.
• Compassionate demeanor with a genuine desire to improve the quality of life for seniors.
• Ability to follow detailed instructions and maintain confidentiality regarding resident information.

Below is the list of tasks that would be expected from a lead QMAP during each shift.

• Resident accountability (LOAs)
• Walking rounds completed
• Fridge temps completed
• Missed tasks/Documentation completion - Care stream tasks signed off from outgoing shift
• Environmental rounds - Propped external doors, water leaks/spills, etc.
• Supply checks - communicate needs to coordinator
• Vital Equipment checks
• Tablet/phone charging
• Mentor new staff
• Respond to resident concerns - escalate to DoW and ED
• Immediate staffing issues - escalate to staffing manager or ED
• Escalate clinical concerns to DoW
• Verify narc counts completed
• End-of-shift readiness - Did today's work get done?
• Trash, care stream tasks completed, LOA checks, equipment returned
