Job Summary
The Inventory Clerk is responsible for maintaining accurate records of raw materials, work-in-progress inventory, and finished goods within warehouse and production environments. This role supports inventory accuracy, material flow, and operational efficiency by performing inventory transactions, physical counts, and coordination with production, purchasing, and quality teams.
Essential Job Functions
• Update and maintain inventory records within the inventory management system.
• Conduct regular physical counts and cycle counts to ensure inventory accuracy.
• Verify quantities and condition of received materials and report discrepancies.
• Coordinate with production planning, purchasing, and quality teams to support material flow.
• Maintain accurate documentation related to inventory movements and adjustments.
• Perform data entry and recordkeeping with a high level of accuracy.
• Communicate effectively with internal teams regarding inventory status and needs.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives related to inventory accuracy and control.
Skills and Qualifications
• One to three years of experience in inventory management, warehouse, or supply-chain-related roles preferred.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and recordkeeping.
• Basic math skills for counting, measuring, and inventory calculations.
• Proficiency with inventory systems and basic computer applications.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions and adapt to changing priorities.
• Completion of required orientation and safety training.
• Ability to successfully complete the required probationary period.
Physical Requirements
The physical demands described here are representative of those required to perform the essential functions of this position, with or without reasonable accommodation.
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, and climb for extended periods.
• Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 lbs. as required.
• Ability to handle tools, materials, and inventory components safely.
• Ability to perform repetitive motions and maintain manual dexterity.
• Visual acuity required for reading labels, measurements, and inventory documentation.
• Ability to work around machinery and production equipment safely.
Working Conditions
This position operates primarily in a warehouse and manufacturing environment. Employees may be exposed to elevated noise levels, dust, fumes, airborne particles, moving machinery, and varying temperatures, all within OSHA-permissible exposure limits. The role requires working around production equipment and material-handling devices. OSHA-compliant safety training, required personal protective equipment (PPE), and company safety procedures are provided and must be followed at all times.
