Tampa Family Health Centers is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Child & Adolescent Psychiatrist (MD/DO) to join our Behavioral Health team in beautiful Tampa, Florida.

This role provides an opportunity to make a lasting impact on the mental health and well-being of children and adolescents through comprehensive psychiatric evaluations, medication management, and collaborative treatment planning.

You will work alongside primary care physicians and other healthcare professionals to deliver individualized, evidence-based care in an integrated healthcare environment.

• Perform comprehensive psychiatric evaluations and diagnostic assessments for children and adolescents.
• Diagnose and manage emotional, behavioral, and psychiatric disorders.
• Develop individualized treatment plans in collaboration with patients, families, and the healthcare team.
• Prescribe and manage psychiatric medications, monitoring effectiveness and potential side effects.
• Coordinate care with primary care physicians and other behavioral health professionals.
• Educate patients and families regarding diagnoses, treatment options, and medication management.
• Order and review appropriate laboratory tests and diagnostic studies.
• Facilitate referrals for additional testing, specialty services, and follow-up care.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation within the electronic health record.
• Participate in peer review, quality improvement initiatives, and efforts to close patient care gaps.
• Support clinical education through periodic teaching and supervision of residents, medical students, and other healthcare professionals.

• Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) from an accredited medical school.
• Completion of a General Psychiatry residency.
• Completion of a Child and Adolescent Psychiatry fellowship.
• Board Certified or Board Eligible in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry.
• Current, valid Florida medical license.
• Current DEA registration.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Ability to obtain and maintain hospital privileges, if required.

• Strong psychiatric assessment, diagnostic, and medication management skills.
• Excellent communication skills when working with children, adolescents, and families.
• Ability to collaborate effectively within a multidisciplinary healthcare team.
• Commitment to compassionate, culturally responsive, patient-centered care.
• Proficiency with electronic health record systems.
• Strong clinical judgment and organizational skills.
• Interest in teaching, mentorship, and professional development.

National Health Service Corps (NHSC) Loan Repayment Program

Eligible Child & Adolescent Psychiatrists may qualify for up to $50,000 in student loan repayment through the NHSC Loan Repayment Program in exchange for a two-year, full-time service commitment.
