Position Title: Line Lead

Location: Greenville, SC

Description:

HTI is seeking an experienced Packaging Line Lead for a pharmaceutical manufacturing facility in Greenville, SC. This position is 12 hour night shift, 2 on 2 off and starting pay is $27/hr with a $1.25 shift differential. responsible for leading packaging line activities, coordinating production personnel, operating packaging equipment, maintaining accurate documentation, and ensuring production is completed safely and in accordance with cGMP, FDA, and company requirements.

What You’ll DoPackaging Line Setup & Changeovers
  • Confirm proper line clearance before the start of each new production lot.

  • Complete packaging line setup according to the Batch Production Record (BPR).

  • Assemble and connect filler hoses, nozzles, screens, pumps, and other packaging equipment components.

  • Verify equipment and filler components have been properly cleaned and documented prior to use.

  • Stage and verify labels, containers, closures, and other packaging materials.

  • Confirm lot numbers, expiration dates, and packaging components are accurate before production begins.

  • Coordinate product and equipment changeovers.

  • Pre-stage equipment components and materials to support efficient changeovers.

  • Disassemble, clean, and reassemble packaging equipment according to established SOPs.

Production & Equipment Operation
  • Operate packaging equipment as part of the production line team.

  • Monitor packaging equipment and production processes throughout the manufacturing run.

  • Ensure operating parameters such as filler speed, mixing speed, sealing temperatures, and tank conditions meet BPR requirements.

  • Coordinate with Material Handlers to maintain a continuous supply of containers, closures, and packaging materials.

  • Work with Quality Assurance to verify product fill volume and weight.

  • Make appropriate equipment or process adjustments to ensure products meet lot specifications.

  • Identify equipment or process problems and assist with troubleshooting.

  • Partner with Maintenance, Quality Assurance, and Production Supervisors to resolve issues and minimize downtime.

Documentation & Regulatory Compliance
  • Accurately complete Packaging Records, production documentation, and required logbooks.

  • Document production issues, adjustments, and equipment occurrences in the appropriate Packaging Record.

  • Perform SAP transactions related to packaging production runs.

  • Review batch records and line logbooks for completeness and accuracy.

  • Ensure documentation meets company SOPs, cGMP requirements, and applicable regulatory standards.

  • Accurately document equipment changeovers and changeover times in required systems.

Leadership & Team Coordination
  • Organize and direct the activities of Packaging Personnel assigned to the production line or shift.

  • Provide clear direction and guidance to team members throughout production.

  • Answer employee questions and assist with resolving production challenges.

  • Provide hands-on training and coaching when needed.

  • Communicate clearly and professionally with employees and cross-functional departments.

  • Demonstrate effective conflict-resolution skills.

  • Provide constructive feedback and maintain an empathetic, respectful leadership approach.

  • Coordinate with Quality Assurance, Validation, Maintenance, Material Handling, and Production leadership regarding packaging materials, labeling, equipment readiness, and production challenges.

  • Assist with ensuring preventive maintenance and validation activities are completed without unnecessarily delaying production.

Quality & Safety Responsibilities
  • Maintain clean, organized, and safe production areas.

  • Ensure packaging activities comply with cGMP, Quality, Environmental Health & Safety, and regulatory requirements.

  • Follow all company policies, SOPs, equipment procedures, and safety practices.

  • Ensure operations comply with applicable state, federal, and local requirements.

  • Identify potential Quality or EH&S risks and escalate concerns appropriately.

  • Support proactive corrective actions to reduce safety, compliance, and quality risks.

What We’re Looking For
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.

  • 2–5 years of experience in pharmaceutical, medical device, food, or similar regulated manufacturing preferred.

  • Experience working with manufacturing processes and production equipment.

  • Knowledge of Current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMPs).

  • Familiarity with FDA and other applicable regulatory requirements.

  • Understanding of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), manufacturing equipment, and workplace safety practices.

  • Previous experience providing leadership, training, or direction to production employees is strongly preferred.
