X-Ray Tech in Murfreesboro, Tennessee at Primary Care & Hope Clinic

Reports To: Nurse Manager

Employee Status: Non- Exempt (Regarding Overtime)

Position Summary: Under general supervision, but in line with established PC&HC policies and Procedures perform clinical tasks to keep the practitioners and providers flow of patients running smoothly. Perform limited scope x-ray.

Essential Functions

• Represent PC&HC to patients/visitors in a caring, courteous, and professional manner.
• Provide prompt, efficient and accurate patient care.
• Prepare x-ray room for use and sterilizes equipment and supplies.
• Conduct daily health center room clean-up
• Assist provider with procedures and patient care.
• Perform EKG, venipuncture, suture removal, splinting, breathing treatment, immunizations, audiometry test, etc.
• Provide patient education as warranted communicating laboratory and diagnostic testing results by phone and mail.
• Utilize eclinical software for patient records.
• Triage calls for provider to include determining emergencies, identifying symptoms, using discretion for work in appointments and refilling routine prescriptions after reviewing medical chart.
• Maintain quality monitoring logs; i.e.; refrigerator, lab test, immunizations, lab inventory and stocking of supplies.
• Check equipment functionality and controls.
• Prepare patient for radiologic procedure, including explanation of process.
• Take all necessary protective precautions, including, but not limited to, vests and protective gloves to avoid exposure.
• Operate x-ray machine by performing limited scope x-ray.
• Maintain and handle x-ray equipment appropriately.
• Improve the patient experience and health care processes and help assure the provision of high quality health care, as well as an ongoing process of performance improvement.
• Complete all required paperwork.
• Plan and organize work load to maintain efficient patient operations in the Health Center.
• Maintain a strong patient focus while working collaboratively within the teams multiple demands and patient needs.
• Treat all patient information confidentially and in accordance with established guidelines.
• Perform all other duties as required or assigned.

Requirements

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Must have a High School diploma or equivalent.
• Must be Licensed in X-Ray with ARRT, and state license
• Must maintain current and valid x-ray license.
• Must maintain a CPR Certification.
• Knowledge of medical terminology.
• Must be able to lift 30 pounds/ walk and/or stand for up to ten hour shifts-bend or stoop throughout shift
• Must have computer skills
• Must follow all HIPAA and OSHA requirements.
