CIP Sanitation Technician
American Soy Products – Saline, MI

Role:
American Soy Products (ASP), part of Morgan Foods, Inc., is seeking a CIP Sanitation Technician to support aseptic manufacturing operations at our Saline, MI facility. This full-time, on-site role reports to the Quality Assurance Manager and is responsible for supporting Clean-In-Place (CIP) sanitation processes, chemical monitoring, validation activities, and sanitation program effectiveness across production operations.
The CIP Sanitation Technician plays a key role in maintaining sanitation compliance, supporting food safety initiatives, validating CIP systems, and partnering with Operations, Quality, and Sanitation teams to ensure consistent cleaning performance and regulatory compliance.

ASP maintains compliance with Global Food Safety Initiative (GFSI) standards through Safe Quality Food (SQF) certification.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Monitor and trend chemical concentrations during CIP processes to ensure effectiveness of conductivity meter dosing systems.
- Maintain process change logs for CIP skids and related sanitation systems.
- Audit CIP processes across shifts and production lines to ensure sanitation consistency and effectiveness.
- Lead annual CIP validation activities for all production lines.
- Coordinate and conduct annual training for operators performing CIP activities, including CIP fundamentals and sanitation procedures.
- Assist departments in developing and implementing procedures related to chemical handling and cleaning processes.
- Serve as a key technical contact with chemical suppliers, including review of audit findings and maintenance of chemical labels and tags.
- Collaborate with Quality, Production, and Sanitation teams to support food safety and sanitation objectives.
- Support corrective actions and continuous improvement initiatives related to sanitation and CIP systems.
- Maintain accurate documentation, records, and sanitation reports.
- Participate in food safety, sanitation, and quality audits as needed.
- Perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Physical, Environmental & Work Expectations:
Ability to work in office and manufacturing environments with exposure to varying temperatures, moisture, chemicals, noise, and moving equipment. Frequent walking, standing, bending, climbing, and occasional lifting up to 50 lbs. required. Must follow SOPs and safety procedures, communicate effectively, and maintain a detail-oriented, team-focused approach in a fast-paced environment with schedule flexibility as needed.
Education / Training / Skills / Experience / Personal Attributes:
- Bachelor’s degree preferred in:
- Chemistry
- Chemical Engineering
- Related technical field
- Minimum 3+ years of experience within food and beverage manufacturing environments.
- Aseptic processing and packaging knowledge preferred.
- HACCP Certification preferred.
- Better Process Control School Certification preferred.
- Strong understanding of sanitation systems, CIP processes, and chemical handling procedures.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, organizational, and documentation skills.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within a team environment.
- Strong communication and training abilities.
