Job Description
The Recruiter / HR Generalist supports talent acquisition and day-to-day human resources service delivery across assigned accounts. The position pairs full-cycle recruiting with generalist HR responsibilities — employee lifecycle administration, benefits, compliance, and employee relations support — and includes payroll processing responsibilities.
Recruiting is the primary focus of the role. Generalist and payroll responsibilities expand as proficiency is established, with the longer-term expectation of assuming direct client-facing field support duties.
Primary ResponsibilitiesRecruiting and Talent Acquisition• Own assigned recruiting projects from intake through offer acceptance and onboarding handoff.
• Conduct intake meetings to define role requirements, compensation parameters, and candidate profiles.
• Draft and post job advertisements; manage sourcing channels and job boards.
• Source candidates and build pipelines for recurring or hard-to-fill roles.
• Screen applications, conduct phone and video interviews, and present qualified slates with written summaries and recommendations.
• Coordinate interview logistics and maintain consistent candidate communication throughout the process.
• Conduct reference checks and manage background screening and other pre-employment requirements.
• Prepare offers and extend them within approved parameters.
• Maintain accurate applicant tracking records and provide recruiting status reporting.
• Ensure recruiting practices comply with EEO, ADA, and applicable federal, state, and local requirements.
HR Generalist• Serve as a point of contact for employee and manager questions on policies, procedures, benefits, and pay.
• Administer the employee lifecycle: new hire setup, status changes, transfers, promotions, leaves, and separations.
• Maintain personnel files, HRIS records, and I-9 documentation in compliance with retention and confidentiality requirements.
• Administer benefits enrollment, qualifying life events, open enrollment, and carrier coordination.
• Support leave administration including FMLA, ADA accommodations, workers’ compensation, and applicable state leave programs.
• Conduct new hire orientation and deliver training on policies, handbooks, and HR processes.
• Support employee relations matters: document concerns, participate in investigations, and assist with corrective action and performance management.
• Draft, update, and maintain job descriptions, handbooks, policies, and HR forms.
• Manage unemployment claims, employment verifications, and related agency correspondence.
• Track compliance obligations including required postings, notices, and reporting deadlines.
• Support performance review cycles and offboarding processes.
Payroll• Process payroll accurately and on schedule for assigned populations.
• Gather, audit, and enter payroll data including hours, PTO, commissions, bonuses, deductions, and retroactive adjustments.
• Review payroll registers and preview reports; identify and resolve discrepancies prior to submission.
• Process off-cycle payments, final pay, and corrections in accordance with applicable state pay rules.
• Administer garnishments, child support orders, and levies.
• Reconcile benefit deductions against carrier invoices and payroll records.
• Maintain data integrity between HR and payroll on new hire, status change, and termination records.
• Support quarter-end and year-end payroll activities, including W-2 review and reporting.
• Respond to employee pay inquiries with accuracy and discretion.
Client and Field Support• Serve as a responsive point of contact for assigned client accounts.
• Support onsite and remote client service including orientations, training sessions, employee meetings, and documentation review.
• Maintain professional and confidential communication with client contacts at all levels.
General• Manage competing priorities and deadlines across multiple requisitions, accounts, and projects.
• Maintain strict confidentiality of employee, client, and company information.
• Participate in ongoing training and professional development.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities• Working knowledge of recruiting practices and full-cycle hiring processes.
• Working knowledge of payroll processing, pay practices, and wage and hour requirements.
• Familiarity with federal and state employment law including FLSA, FMLA, ADA, and Title VII.
• Proficiency with HRIS, payroll, and applicant tracking systems.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, including professional client-facing correspondence.
• High attention to detail and accuracy in compliance-sensitive work.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including intermediate Excel.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to client locations as needed.
