Compressor Quality Technician
Job Description
Summary (Position Description): The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills with demonstrated success in areas associated with Production and Quality. This position will interact closely with Operations, Customer Service, Scheduling, Engineering, and Suppliers to ensure correct materials are purchased and delivered on time to meet customer requirements while ensuring a high level of quality and maximizing revenue.
Reports To: Quality Systems Manager for Compressors, VA/ET.
Status: Full time,
Duties & Tasks:
· Experience using standard measurement equipment (i.e., calipers, bore gauges, micrometers, etc.)
· Product Knowledge of Compressor Components and Assembly.
· Ability to read engineering prints
· Dimensional Inspection of each Critical Components to Drawing Specifications.
· Visual Inspection – Audits Compressors on the Assembly Line, Test, Paint and Final Assembly.
· Witness Compressor Testing and sign travelers as needed
· Ensure travelers are filled out Completely, and Internal Assemblies Sign Offs has been Signed Prior to Testing.
· The position requires working and communicating with multiple departments on a daily basis to help identify and solve problems on the shop floor.
· Additional duties as assigned by management

Competencies (Knowledge, Skills & Abilities):
· Experience using standard measurement equipment (i.e., calipers, bore gauges, micrometers, etc.)
· Basic computer skills – familiarity with Outlook and Microsoft Office products.
· Effective communication skills and ability to work with interdepartmental teams.
· The position requires working and communicating with multiple departments on a daily basis to help identify and solve problems on the shop floor.
· Previous Quality Experience or In-Depth Product Knowledge to Off Set Required Quality Experience.
· Ability to read engineering prints.
Work Environment:
· This job is performed in a professional office environment. It also requires time on the shop floor with machining, assembly, and material technicians. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and fax machines.
Physical Demands:
· While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. The employee frequently is required to stand and walk on the shop floor. Occasionally may be required to drive and operate a fork truck.

· Dimensional inspection per drawing specifications.
· Visual inspection of all Compressor Assembly Gates.
· Verify nameplate data.
· Perform Dock Audits prior to Shipping.
· Audit of Test Line, Paint Line, Final Assembly, and Dock Audits Prior to Shipments to the Customer.
· Perform quality inspection on incoming components and other necessary components purchased.
· Inspect components to tolerances defined by the engineering drawing.
· support other quality departments when needed and any other task given by quality management
