Bridge Project Engineer

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Bridge Project Engineer based in United States.

This is an opportunity to join a specialized Bridges & Structures team supporting bridge projects across the country. The role combines technical engineering expertise with hands-on project delivery, from preliminary planning through final design. You will apply sound engineering principles to develop safe, efficient, economical, and environmentally responsible solutions. The position offers the opportunity to work on projects ranging from smaller assignments to large-scale bridge developments. You will collaborate with experienced professionals while contributing to scopes, budgets, schedules, technical documentation, and proposals. This role is well suited to a licensed engineer who enjoys solving complex infrastructure challenges and making a tangible impact through their work.

Accountabilities
  • Apply advanced knowledge of bridge engineering principles, practices, standards, and procedures to support a range of bridge and structural engineering projects.
  • Evaluate, select, and adapt appropriate engineering techniques, procedures, and design criteria based on project requirements.
  • Develop complete engineering designs for projects, systems, components, and processes, ensuring technical quality, accuracy, and compliance.
  • Prepare advanced general and basic non-routine engineering designs, calculations, technical data, and supporting documentation.
  • Develop complete project documents and analyze technical data to formulate effective engineering solutions to complex problems.
  • Prepare project scopes of work, budgets, and schedule assignments to support successful project execution.
  • Collaborate with project teams and clients to understand objectives and develop solutions that are safe, efficient, cost-effective, and environmentally responsible.
  • Contribute to proposals and business development activities by assisting with the preparation of professional services proposals and related technical materials.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a closely related engineering discipline is required.
  • 5+ years of professional bridge design experience is required.
  • Active Professional Engineer (PE) license is required.
  • Strong proficiency with MicroStation and OpenRoads is required; experience with Civil 3D is considered a plus.
  • Strong knowledge of applicable DOT and AASHTO design codes and standards is required.
  • Familiarity with AREMA design codes is an advantage.
  • Demonstrated ability to interpret engineering data, identify problems, and develop practical technical solutions.
  • Strong written and verbal English communication skills, with the ability to understand technical documentation, instructions, and project communications.
  • Ability to work effectively across project teams while maintaining attention to technical accuracy, deadlines, budgets, and quality standards.
