The Sr. Production Planner is responsible for creating and ensuring that production schedules align with customer demand, inventory levels, and material availability while optimizing production efficiency and resource utilization. This role requires collaboration with cross-functional teams, including sales, customer experience team, engineering, production, inventory, logistics, finance and procurement, to ensure seamless execution of the production plan.

In this role you will get to:
- Design, develop, and continuously improve production planning and scheduling processes, leveraging MRP/ERP capabilities to optimize material flow, capacity utilization, inventory, lead times, and schedule performance.
- Develop and analyze operational data, metrics, and reporting that enable data-driven decision making across Supply Chain and Manufacturing; identify improvement opportunities and lead initiatives that measurably improve schedule attainment, on-time delivery, inventory, capacity utilization, throughput, and/or manufacturing efficiency.
- Establish, standardize, and continuously improve production planning and scheduling processes, systems, tools, and operating practices in an evolving manufacturing environment.
- Develop what-if scenarios and capacity models to evaluate demand changes, production constraints, capital requirements, staffing needs, outsourcing opportunities, and other alternatives affecting operational performance.
- Collaborate closely with the Master Scheduler, Procurement and Sales, Inventory & Operations Planning (SIOP) team to ensure alignment between overall demand and department production schedules.
- Develop what-if scenarios and capacity models to evaluate demand changes, production constraints, capital requirements, staffing needs, outsourcing opportunities, and other alternatives affecting operational performance.
- Influence manufacturing, supply chain, procurement, and commercial stakeholders to establish priorities and resolve complex trade-offs involving customer demand, inventory, capacity, materials, and production constraints.
- Establish and monitor planning and operational performance metrics, develop root-cause analysis, and translate findings into corrective actions and continuous improvement initiatives with measurable business impact.
- Proactively identify and mitigate production risks, such as resource constraints, machine availability, or material shortages.
- Use our ERP system and other software tools to manage scheduling processes and ensure accurate, real-time data is available for decision-making.
- Communicate regularly with site production managers/supervisors, operations teams, and other stakeholders to ensure alignment on production priorities and timelines.
• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Operations, Business Administration, or a related field.
• 10+ years of experience in production planning or scheduling in a manufacturing environment, preferably in industrial equipment or similar industries.
• Demonstrated ability to translate complex operational data into actionable insights and measurable improvements in manufacturing or supply chain performance.
• Advanced knowledge of MRP, ERP planning logic, production scheduling, capacity planning, BOMs, routings, lead times, inventory planning, and manufacturing constraints.
• Experience implementing or optimizing ERP/MRP functionality, including planning parameters, master data, scheduling logic, or related processes strongly preferred.
• Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills. Advanced Excel and Power BI skills is highly desirable.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work across departments and with different levels of the organization.
• Ability to balance long-term planning with short-term problem-solving.
