Hotel Equities, a multi-award-winning hotel development and hospitality management company, is currently searching for a remarkable AM Line Cook for The Vanguard Hotel in Ann Arbor, MI.

Pay: $21-23/hr

About the Role:

The AM Line Cook at The Vanguard Hotel in Ann Arbor, MI plays a critical role in delivering exceptional breakfast and brunch dining experiences to our guests. This position is responsible for preparing and cooking a variety of menu items with precision, consistency, and attention to quality. The ideal candidate will work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen environment, ensuring all dishes meet the hotel's high standards for taste and presentation. Collaboration with kitchen staff and adherence to food safety and sanitation guidelines are essential to maintain a smooth and safe operation. Ultimately, this role contributes directly to guest satisfaction and the overall reputation of The Vanguard Hotel's culinary offerings.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Previous experience as a line cook or similar role in a fast-paced kitchen environment, preferably in breakfast or brunch service.
  • Basic knowledge of food preparation techniques and kitchen equipment operation.
  • Ability to work early morning shifts and maintain energy and focus during busy service periods.
  • Understanding of food safety and sanitation standards.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work well within a team.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working in a hotel or upscale restaurant setting.
  • Knowledge of dietary restrictions and ability to prepare special menu items accordingly.
  • Familiarity with inventory management and ordering procedures.
  • First aid and food handler certification.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and cook breakfast and brunch menu items according to standardized recipes and presentation guidelines.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen workstations, including proper storage of ingredients and supplies.
  • Collaborate with other kitchen team members to ensure timely and efficient food service during morning hours.
  • Monitor food quality and portion sizes to minimize waste and maintain consistency.
  • Adhere strictly to all food safety, sanitation, and hygiene standards as outlined by health regulations and hotel policies.
Physical Requirements
    Ability to stand for extended periods and work in varying temperatures (kitchens, freezers)Capable of lifting up to 50 lbs and pushing equipment up to 250 lbsSkilled in handling kitchen tools and equipment safelyComfortable working in a fast-paced, high-noise environment
