Engagement Manager, Market Access Consulting

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for an Engagement Manager, Market Access Consulting based in the United States.

The Engagement Manager will guide project teams, manage client relationships, and deliver strategic recommendations for pharmaceutical, biotech, medical device, and healthcare organizations.

Accountabilities:

The Engagement Manager, Market Access Consulting will lead consulting engagements from strategy development through execution, ensuring high-quality deliverables, strong client relationships, and effective collaboration across project teams. This role requires a combination of healthcare market expertise, project leadership, analytical thinking, and the ability to translate complex insights into strategic recommendations.

  • Lead and manage client project workstreams, ensuring alignment with objectives, timelines, resources, and deliverables.
  • Provide clear direction and mentorship to analysts and consultants while supporting team development and collaboration.
  • Develop and maintain project plans to successfully deliver high-quality client outcomes.
  • Conduct and oversee primary research activities with healthcare stakeholders, including payers, physicians, and key opinion leaders.
  • Analyze primary and secondary research findings to generate insights and strategic recommendations.
  • Develop pricing, reimbursement, and market access strategies to support healthcare product success.
  • Build trusted relationships with clients and serve as a strategic partner throughout engagements.
  • Lead client meetings, presentations, and discussions while managing expectations and ensuring alignment.
  • Ensure accuracy, quality, and appropriate sourcing of all project deliverables and analyses.
  • Develop subject matter expertise in specific healthcare areas and contribute to thought leadership, proposals, and internal knowledge development.
  • Support practice growth through mentoring, training, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Requirements:

The ideal candidate brings healthcare consulting experience, strong analytical capabilities, and proven project leadership skills. They should be comfortable managing client relationships, leading teams, and developing strategic recommendations within complex healthcare markets.

  • Bachelor’s degree with a strong academic record required.
  • 3–5 years of consulting, business analytics, strategy, or related experience within the healthcare industry.
  • Experience working within pharmaceutical, biotechnology, medical device, diagnostics, or related healthcare sectors.
  • Strong understanding of global pricing, reimbursement, and market access strategies.
  • Experience managing client-facing projects and leading cross-functional teams.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to synthesize complex information into actionable insights.
  • Excellent communication skills, including experience presenting recommendations to clients and stakeholders.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office tools, including PowerPoint, Excel, and Word.
  • Preferred experience with academic training in science, economics, business, or related fields.
  • Preferred advanced degree such as a Master’s degree or PhD.
  • Ability to thrive in a collaborative, fast-paced consulting environment with changing priorities.

  • Competitive annual salary range of approximately $105,000 - $182,000 USD, depending on skills, experience, qualifications, and business needs.
