Job Description

Senior Product Manager, Design Systems

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Senior Product Manager, Design Systems based in United States.

As a Senior Product Manager, Design Systems, you will define the strategy and roadmap for the foundational platform that powers consistent, scalable user experiences across the entire product ecosystem. Working at the intersection of product, design, and engineering, you will drive initiatives that improve developer efficiency, elevate design quality, and enable teams to build faster with shared components and tooling. This is a highly collaborative and influential role offering significant ownership over platform investments that support long-term product growth. You'll help shape modern frontend experiences, accessibility, AI-ready interfaces, and scalable design practices while partnering with cross-functional leaders across the organization. If you're passionate about building exceptional product foundations and enabling teams to do their best work, this is an opportunity to make a broad and lasting impact.

Accountabilities:
  • Define and execute the product vision, strategy, and roadmap for the design system and frontend platform, aligning platform investments with broader business objectives.
  • Evolve reusable design components into scalable, composable building blocks with consistent APIs that support modern product development and AI-powered experiences.
  • Lead accessibility, internationalization, and localization initiatives to ensure inclusive, high-quality user experiences across global markets.
  • Partner closely with engineering, design, and AI teams to deliver platform capabilities that improve developer productivity and customer experience.
  • Drive adoption of design system enhancements through effective communication, change management, documentation, and ongoing quality improvements.
  • Prioritize platform investments by balancing long-term scalability with immediate business needs while collaborating across multiple product teams.
  • Shape the future direction of frontend architecture by anticipating emerging technologies, user experience trends, and AI-native product capabilities.
Requirements
  • 4–8+ years of product management experience with ownership of a design system, frontend platform, developer platform, or similar internal product.
  • Strong understanding of design systems, component libraries, design tokens, frontend architecture, and scalable product development practices.
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively with engineering, design, and product leaders while influencing cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Strong product intuition with a passion for delivering polished, intuitive, and high-quality user experiences.
  • Systems-thinking mindset with the ability to understand how platform decisions impact multiple teams and products.
  • Experience communicating technical investments in terms of business value to leadership and diverse stakeholders.
  • Hands-on approach to prototyping, experimentation, and product discovery, with curiosity about leveraging AI to enhance product development.
  • Excellent communication, prioritization, and strategic planning skills.
  • Authorization to work in the United States without current or future employer sponsorship.
Benefits
  • Industry-competitive salary and equity package.
  • Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision coverage, with employee-only medical premiums fully covered on most plans.
  • 16 weeks of paid parental leave for all new parents.
  • Flexible paid time off, paid sick leave, and company-paid holidays.
  • 401(k) plan with immediate company matching.
  • Health and wellness stipend.
  • Remote workspace, internet, and cellphone reimbursement.
  • Family planning benefits.
  • Commuter benefits for eligible office locations.
  • Access to virtual team events, learning opportunities, and a collaborative remote-first culture.
