The Role:

The Reliability, Planning, & Project Coordinator reports to the Maintenance Superintendent and the primary role is to lead the Processing Maintenance planning, scheduling, reliability & project function to improve plant availability, asset reliability, work management discipline, project completion and maintenance execution readiness across the Pogo processing plant.

The role is accountable for establishing and maintaining a disciplined maintenance planning and scheduling cycle, improving preventative maintenance compliance, controlling backlog, improving work order quality, strengthening reliability routines and ensuring that reliability actions are converted into practical, executable work. The role provides leadership to planners, reliability engineers and associated support roles to ensure maintenance work is identified, scoped, planned, scheduled, executed and closed out to a high standard.

Success in this role will be demonstrated by improved maintenance discipline, visible and reliable maintenance KPIs, effective weekly planning and reliability routines, improved shutdown planning, reduced reactive work, improved critical asset performance and practical defect elimination of repeat or high-impact failures. The role requires strong field engagement, active coaching, accountability and close integration between Maintenance, Operations, Warehouse / Supply, Contractors and other site functions.

  • Lead the Processing Maintenance planning, scheduling and reliability function.
  • Capital Project delegation, project scope & execution accountability.
  • Establish and maintain a disciplined weekly planning and scheduling cycle.
  • Improve work identification, scoping, planning, scheduling, execution and close-out.
  • Embed a plan-do-check-act approach across work management and reliability routines.
  • Review, cleanse and control maintenance backlog, including aged, duplicate, obsolete and poorly scoped work orders.
  • Improve PM compliance, particularly for critical assets and statutory maintenance.
  • Review PM strategies and recommend improvements to task quality, frequency and execution discipline.
  • Develop and maintain a practical maintenance KPI dashboard.
  • Monitor and report planned work ratio, reactive work, schedule compliance, PM compliance, backlog health, work order quality and reliability performance.
  • Lead bad actor reviews and defect elimination for repeat failures and high-impact equipment.
  • Ensure reliability actions are practical, prioritised, assigned, resourced and closed out.
  • Lead shutdown including Cadence accountability. Major work planning, including shutdown planning quality, materials readiness, contractor readiness and post-shutdown close-out.
  • Support critical spares reviews and improvement of bills of materials.
  • Coach planners, reliability engineers, supervisors and maintenance leaders in work management discipline.

Desired Experience & Competencies

  • Significant maintenance planning and reliability leadership experience in mining, mineral processing, heavy industry or fixed plant operations.
  • Strong understanding of gold processing or similar mineral processing plants.
  • Demonstrated experience improving maintenance work management in a reactive or underperforming environment.
  • Experience leading planners, schedulers, reliability engineers or maintenance improvement teams.
  • Practical knowledge of preventative maintenance, backlog management, weekly scheduling, shutdown planning, defect elimination, root cause analysis, maintenance KPIs and CMMS discipline.
  • Experience with Pronto, SAP, AMT or similar CMMS. Pronto experience is highly regarded.
  • Strong communication, coaching and stakeholder management skills.
  • Practical, field-focused leadership style with the ability to build trust quickly.
  • Ability to work with imperfect data while improving discipline, systems and reporting quality.
  • Remote mining experience is desirable.
  • Gold processing experience is desirable.

The Details:

Working a 15 days on, 13 days off, off rotating schedule of days and nights, up to 12 hours a day or more at a remote campsite. Extreme conditions, including but not limited to extreme and changing weather conditions, dust, mud, varying levels of noise, varying degrees of light and dark, in and around artificial light and in a confined work area.

Employees are required to stay on site at the company provided camp during the work rotation. Camp facilities provide dining service, games room, exercise & weight room, sauna, and accommodation rooms. Dormitory rooms have a land line phone, internet & cable tv programs. Cell service is available when using Wi-Fi. The Company provides a bus service to and from Fairbanks, Delta Junction and Tok, Alaska.
