This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Google Workspace Security & Identity Administrator based in the United States.
This remote role is an opportunity to take ownership of Google Workspace administration, identity, access, and security within an enterprise technology environment.
You will help protect critical systems by managing authentication, access provisioning, security controls, and user lifecycle processes.
The role combines hands-on administration with advanced troubleshooting across cloud, infrastructure, identity, and security technologies.
You will also contribute to automation, infrastructure-as-code, and DevOps initiatives that improve operational efficiency and reliability.
Working closely with infrastructure, cloud, security, and technical support teams, you will serve as a trusted technical resource for complex issues.
The position also offers opportunities to lead small technical projects, mentor support personnel, and influence enterprise technology practices.
This is a 12-month remote engagement suited to an experienced technical professional who enjoys solving complex problems and improving secure IT operations.
- Administer enterprise Google Workspace environments, including users, groups, organizational units, roles, domains, and security configurations.
- Manage end-to-end identity and user lifecycle processes, including provisioning, authentication, access management, account security, and deprovisioning.
- Configure, maintain, and troubleshoot SSO, directory synchronization, identity federation, and other access integrations.
- Implement and enforce Google Workspace security and compliance policies to protect enterprise data and systems.
- Investigate and resolve complex authentication, Admin Console, configuration, identity, access, and security issues.
- Troubleshoot medium-to-complex technical problems spanning cloud infrastructure, hybrid environments, enterprise IT operations, directories, storage, servers, and services.
- Support infrastructure provisioning, configuration management, and ongoing administration of enterprise technology environments.
- Apply automation, infrastructure-as-code, and DevOps practices to improve infrastructure management, consistency, and operational efficiency.
- Independently manage small technical projects from planning through completion, ensuring objectives and timelines are met.
- Provide advanced technical support for complex configuration and troubleshooting scenarios.
- Mentor Technical Support Representatives and serve as a subject matter expert for Google Workspace, identity, and security-related issues.
- Collaborate with infrastructure, cloud, cybersecurity, and technical support teams to resolve issues and improve enterprise technology services.
- Identify opportunities to improve security, reliability, automation, and operational processes across the environment.
- Hands-on experience administering Google Workspace in an enterprise environment.
- Strong knowledge of Google Admin Console, including users, organizational units, groups, roles, domains, and security settings.
- Demonstrated experience with Identity & Access Management (IAM), SSO, directory synchronization, authentication, identity federation, and access provisioning.
- Strong troubleshooting capabilities across Google Workspace, identity, authentication, security, cloud, and infrastructure technologies.
- Experience implementing and enforcing security policies and compliance controls.
- Knowledge of cloud infrastructure, hybrid cloud environments, enterprise IT operations, directories, storage, and configuration management.
- Experience with infrastructure automation, infrastructure-as-code, and DevOps methodologies.
- Ability to independently diagnose and resolve complex technical issues with limited supervision.
- Strong analytical, organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent written and verbal English communication skills, with the ability to interact professionally with diverse technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Experience mentoring technical support personnel or acting as a technical subject matter expert is highly preferred.
- A bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, Cybersecurity, or a related field is preferred; equivalent education, training, and professional experience may be considered.
- Relevant certifications in Google Cloud, Google Workspace, identity and access management, cybersecurity, cloud infrastructure, or related technologies are a plus.
- $46–$58 per hour expected base salary range.
- Compensation determined based on relevant skills, training, experience, education, market conditions, location, and applicable certifications or licensure.
- Remote work arrangement within the United States.
- 12-month contract duration.
