This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Sr Specialist, IT Tech Lead Planning based in Canada.
This is a remote technical leadership role focused on the ownership and evolution of enterprise supply chain planning and reporting applications. You will serve as a key technical bridge between business stakeholders, IT teams, and external vendors. The role combines solution design, application configuration, system governance, testing, validation, and production support. You will work hands-on with Kinaxis Rapid Response and related technologies to translate complex business needs into scalable solutions. The position also plays an important role in maintaining compliant, reliable systems across regulated and non-regulated environments. You’ll have the opportunity to contribute to modernization and digital transformation initiatives while independently solving challenging technical and operational problems.
- Application ownership and governance: Own and manage supply chain planning and reporting applications, ensuring they remain aligned with business requirements, regulatory expectations, and operational needs throughout their lifecycle.
- Technical solution leadership: Gather and analyze business needs, document workflows and technical requirements, and translate functional requirements into scalable technical specifications and solutions.
- Kinaxis Rapid Response delivery: Configure and enhance Rapid Response and other planning/reporting applications, including data models, worksheets, dashboards, alerts, and related integrations.
- System testing and validation: Develop and execute test scripts, UAT scenarios, validation plans, and change controls for new implementations and system modifications.
- Compliance and risk management: Help maintain applications in a validated state and support risk assessments, audits, regulatory inspections, and compliance activities, including CSV and GxP requirements.
- System maintenance and issue resolution: Oversee upgrades, patches, enhancements, and ongoing maintenance while coordinating issue triage, root-cause analysis, and defect resolution.
- Cross-functional collaboration: Act as a primary liaison between IT, business process owners, and external vendors to coordinate support, enhancements, priorities, and technical decisions.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate functional requirements, design specifications, validation documentation, system records, and change-control materials throughout the application lifecycle.
- Education and experience: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related discipline, combined with at least 2 years of hands-on experience building worksheets, dashboards, and alerts using Kinaxis Rapid Response.
- Kinaxis expertise: Strong knowledge of the Kinaxis platform, particularly data modeling concepts such as table structures, linkages, and configuration.
- Technical skills: Working knowledge of SQL, data integration concepts, APIs, batch jobs, and ETL processes, with the ability to troubleshoot application logic and data-related issues.
- Programming knowledge: Basic understanding of Java and .NET, sufficient to analyze and troubleshoot application logic, scripts, and integrations.
- Cloud and infrastructure: Familiarity with AWS or Azure and experience deploying, configuring, or maintaining applications in cloud environments.
- Enterprise application support: Experience with application integrations, web services, APIs, production support, and troubleshooting complex system issues.
- Validation and compliance: Experience in a regulated healthcare, pharmaceutical, or life sciences environment, with knowledge of Computer System Validation (CSV) and GxP requirements.
- Testing and documentation: Ability to create and execute test scripts, validation plans, system documentation, and change-management materials.
- Problem-solving: Strong analytical and troubleshooting capabilities, with a structured approach to resolving complex technical and business problems.
- Communication: Excellent communication and stakeholder-management skills, with the ability to translate technical concepts and business requirements for diverse audiences.
- Project delivery: Basic project management experience using Agile, Waterfall, or hybrid methodologies is an advantage.
- Certifications: Kinaxis Author Level 1, Administrator Level 1, and/or Integration Level 1 certifications are considered assets.
- Salary: Estimated base salary of $88,000–$110,000 CAD annually, depending on location, skills, expertise, experience, and other relevant factors.
