This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Senior Compensation Manager based in Canada.
This is a strategic opportunity to lead and scale global compensation programs within a high-growth technology environment.
You will shape compensation philosophy, structures, and incentive programs that support talent attraction, engagement, development, and retention.
The role combines strategic advisory work with hands-on ownership of compensation planning, job architecture, pay structures, and rewards programs.
You will partner closely with People leadership, Finance, executives, and Talent Acquisition to ensure compensation decisions are competitive, equitable, and aligned with business priorities.
Data, analytics, benchmarking, and emerging AI tools will play an important role in informing recommendations and improving decision-making.
You will also help managers and leaders navigate complex compensation decisions while strengthening understanding and adoption of compensation policies.
This role offers significant influence over global rewards strategy in a fast-paced, performance-oriented organization.
- Lead the development, execution, and ongoing evolution of the global compensation strategy and localized pay structures, ensuring market competitiveness, internal equity, and alignment with international growth.
- Develop and scale global pay structures, job families, localized pay bands, and total rewards frameworks that support a high-performance culture.
- Conduct ongoing global compensation benchmarking and market analysis using industry surveys and external data to identify trends and inform compensation decisions.
- Leverage AI tools, compensation analytics, and predictive insights to advise leadership, empower managers, and strengthen data-driven decision-making.
- Partner with People leaders, Finance, and executive stakeholders to align compensation structures and incentive programs with evolving business objectives and financial models.
- Serve as a subject matter expert and strategic advisor to People Business Partners and Talent Acquisition on job pricing, competitive offers, promotions, and out-of-cycle compensation adjustments.
- Own the end-to-end administration of annual compensation processes, including merit, bonus, and equity planning, while optimizing Human Resources Information System resources and global communications.
- Drive compensation analytics, reporting, and dashboard development to evaluate pay equity, monitor workforce trends, and provide actionable insights to leadership.
- Design, implement, and govern short-term incentive plans, long-term incentive plans, and specialized recognition and retention programs, including budget management and compliance oversight.
- Monitor compliance with federal, provincial/state, and local compensation and wage regulations, including applicable pay transparency requirements, and proactively educate internal stakeholders.
- Manage external compensation vendors and partners as required to support effective program delivery and compliance.
- Develop and deliver training, documentation, and coaching to managers and leaders on compensation philosophy, policies, and programs.
- Challenge senior leaders constructively when compensation decisions are inconsistent with established compensation principles, market practices, or the organization’s performance philosophy.
Requirements
- You have 10+ years of professional experience in Total Rewards, Compensation, or a closely related discipline.
- You have proven experience designing and scaling compensation programs within a global organization.
- You have strong experience working in a fast-growing global Software-as-a-Service or technology company, which is strongly preferred.
- You have extensive knowledge of compensation strategy, market benchmarking, pay structures, job architecture, incentive programs, and total rewards frameworks.
- You have experience managing global compensation cycles covering merit increases, bonuses, equity, and related planning processes.
- You have strong analytical skills and experience using compensation data, market surveys, workforce analytics, and reporting to support strategic decisions.
- You are comfortable using emerging Artificial Intelligence tools and analytics to generate insights and improve compensation decision-making.
- You have experience advising senior leaders and People teams on complex compensation matters and can confidently challenge decisions when necessary.
- You have strong knowledge of compensation compliance, including wage and hour requirements and pay transparency considerations across relevant jurisdictions.
- Workday Compensation experience is strongly preferred.
- You demonstrate excellent communication, stakeholder management, influencing, and presentation skills.
- You are highly analytical, detail-oriented, commercially minded, and comfortable balancing strategic priorities with operational execution.
- You thrive in a fast-paced, high-performance environment and can build scalable processes while adapting to evolving organizational needs.

- Compensation of $140,000–$160,000 annually, with bonus eligibility; compensation is determined based on role scope, relevant skills, experience, certifications, and geographic location.
