As the Paramedic & Clinical Care Specialist with KerixHealth at our employer-sponsored onsite urgent care, you're a core member of the clinic team every single day — rooming patients, starting IVs, running point-of-care tests, and assisting providers with everything from wound care to walk-in visits. And when a call comes in from somewhere else on campus, you're the one who responds: assessing, stabilizing, and coordinating care until the situation is handled.

It's the full scope of your paramedic training, put to use every day — not held in reserve for the rare emergency.

What Your Day Looks Like:

• In the clinic: triage patients, take vitals and histories, and prep exam rooms for physicians, nurse practitioners, and PAs.
• Hands-on clinical support: place IVs, draw labs, run EKGs and CLIA-waived point-of-care tests (COVID, flu, strep, glucose, urinalysis, pregnancy, and more).
• Assist with procedures: wound care, laceration repair, splinting, and incision & drainage.
• Administer medications, injections, nebulizer treatments, and immunizations as ordered.
• On campus: when dispatched, respond to medical incidents anywhere on the grounds — assess, treat, stabilize, and coordinate EMS as needed.
• Document every encounter in the EHR, and help patients understand their diagnosis, treatment, and next steps.
• Keep exam rooms, equipment, and supplies ready and compliant with OSHA, CLIA, and clinic standards.

What You Bring:

• At least 1 year of paramedic experience preferred; backgrounds in urgent care, the ED, occupational health, or EMS are a strong fit.
• Comfort moving between routine clinical work and fast-moving emergency response.
• Strong clinical judgment, clear communication, and a genuinely helpful, patient-first attitude.
• Ability to work independently while staying closely coordinated with providers and clinic staff.
• Experience with electronic health record (EHR) systems preferred.
• Ability to stand/walk for extended periods and assist with patient transfers up to 50 lbs, with help when needed.

Required Licenses & Certifications:

• Current Michigan Paramedic License (MDHHS).
• Current BLS certification (American Heart Association).
• Current ACLS certification (American Heart Association).
• PALS certification preferred.
• NREMT certification preferred.
